all moderators deserve their positions,

boy - interupted - coz its so difficult to tick him off and i still dont know how far i have to go before he starts deleting my posts

6) Name 5 members who you admire the most?

all members are amazing, i am simply mentioning five coz the question asks.

some 1 - she is strong in every way. in other words, she knows her mind
xpress- she is so calm and mature
thug4life- the poems in his sabla, never seizes to amaze me
fahad - like the way he expresses knowledge in every post of his, (each and every post)
najah - never ignores a post, she takes the time and effort to comment or compliment each one, shows that she cares.

7) What change you would like to see in this forum?

the place is great, but an idea, i have been having, and know most of u thought about it too, is it would be good, to globalise it more, try to get members from lets say , far east, carribeans, etc.. it would widen the scope of views.

Nice to finally see you here Seniora...you said that you are a medical student...in which medical field do you want to specialize in the future?

My father was a surgeon and I know how much time this profession takes away from the family :(...do you think it will be possible for you to be dedicated to this field and have at the same time 7 children as you said?

well, thanx all of u. i am afraid i dont mind answering all ur questions.

do i have any plans to contribute to the short stories thread?

well at the moment, i have no plans to do that, i simply have no time to be creative. this scares me at times, coz i feel i 'd loose my master of english language and vocabulary, morover, nowadays i read less too. nice to know we share the same interest in writing and short stories desert destroyer.

i know u havent asked me, but the reason i like short stories is they always leave a long lasting significant impression on me.

why am i doing medicine?

i ask myself that question everyday since i started!! :lost:
seriosly, i love the respect that goes with it, apart from that, its a difficult field, and i like the challenge. another thing is its a field where u have to keep on studyin, and one thing i dont want is to loose my touch with new discoveries, and research. at the same time, ( the main attraction) u get to help people.

whats my medical field?
well, at the moment i am just doing my MBBS, i guess its too early to say what i want to specialise in.

can i handle 7 children and a fast moving career?
well, a logical answer is no. but u c, the "7" children was definately an exaggeration. i want as many as possible, but i ll make it a point not to put career before my family's welfare.

hiii najahh!!!.. hows life:D.. okok sorry, i ll pm her,
well, i jus get online for 2 hours right, catching up the sablas updates takes more than 2 hours! but i try u know..

well thanx Dr N, u like my way of thinking maybe coz we think alike :)

well, i am doin medicine in Muhimbili University of Health Sciences in Dar es salam- tanzania.

and did i regret taking medicine? .. well so far , i change my mind every other minute. before i started the course, i was so sure that i wanted Medicine, i was 100 % sure, right thug?

but then, when i started doing the real thing, and seeing that its no piece of cake, i wasnt so sure i was cut out for medicine, but i think its to early to decide, , so far, no real regrets, just doubts.
i mean , i like it alot and i do enjoy it, but the problems are in an academic point of view. so maybe i just have to get used to the system.

I don't know u very well.. I just read a poem written by u in the Art Game thread.. I REALLY LOVED IT :)

Seniora
18-11-02, 01:55 PM
hello. cherryy, the answer to ur question.
would i ? well at the moment, no , i would stay here. i mean it took a lot of pains to get adjusted to this place, and i think i shouldn't drop out now for another place. ( by another place, i know u meant, some other better country?)

secondly, a place like this teaches u alotta things, i mean u learn everything the hard way, its frustrating at times but u learn, believe me or not cherry, i changed alot in my way of thinking and my views about stuff.

thirdly, going to study at another place wont change the fact tthat i ll still be away from my family.

hello floret,
nahh the poem is just amateur thing.;)
and well yes i do speak arabic coz i was born and lived all my life in UAE, until the present moment.
and yeah i did visit oman, its cool, not so different from dubai, jus a bit more quietand less crowded.

Cherry

Dont you think that it would be nice from you to share with us some of this painfull things that happened to u!

would i ? well at the moment, no , i would stay here. i mean it took a lot of pains to get adjusted to this place, and i think i shouldn't drop out now for another place. ( by another place, i know u meant, some other better country?)

And what about some nice ones that you experiensed diffrent from UAE culture and all :p

Seniora
23-11-02, 09:28 AM
well, they are small things but they accumalate and start to matter.
for example, like at the moment, the whole city is in shortage of water, and so we have to go get water from some where far. ( look at the bright side : at least its a good way of loosing wieght:) )
then the electricity goes off all the time.
in short, the small luxuries most of us are accustomed to are not available here, and still people live just fine.

then it comes to the city itself. remember wat we have in arab countries,- respect for ladies, ladies first and all that?
here we dont have that! i mean they push u, so as to get into the bus first.
u have to fight for everything!, a bus seat, a good front seat in lecture halls, list goes on.

i was just reading my interview that was conducted last year, it really showed me how i changed in a matter of one yr, i am 19 now, i thought u'd be interested on an update of me.

about the doubts i had abt doing medicine are put to rest, well i am in my second year now, and liking what i am doing very much.

about the changes i faced? i love Tanzania now, i dont see any difficulties anymore since i am now living in a good area of the city , i think i came to africa with a very negative attitude, coz its a 3rd world country, but it actually has more exposure, and i t has everything that i need to be comfortable.

about being family oriented and all? nahh,, not anymore, last yr i still believed in fairy tales, right now, i d be surprised if i actually reach teh stage of getting married in one piece.

i was a very strong femininst too, but really, when u look at what the female population is doing nowadays, i wonder if its worth defending the women, when they themselves do very little to actually hold up their head.

believe me cherry, you are going to be the same in a years time too, u'd be suprised on how much ur way of thinking has changed. dont be surprised if u turn out to be as blunt as me in your views abt things.

now more than ever, i believe there is great importance in being away from you childhood familiar environment,, it gives u a chance to find yourself and see who u really are.
