View Full Version : over-working brain
I normally don't ask for help with problems but I really don't know how to get by this one.
Sometimes when I am sleeping, I wake up halfway and I start studying in my mind.
Last night it was Chem, and I was half asleep but working out a problem at the same time. (funny thing is it turned out right:duh: ) and then I woke up totaly, saw it was 1 am and realised what I was doing. After that I couldn't get to sleep.........this happens often and I loose lots of sleep......I mean it's very nice of my brain to try and study for me but does it have to do it while I'm supposed to be sleeping???
How do I get it to stop and just sleep???
poor runnin' around :)
I think u shouldn't sleep immediately before u study.. and also u'd better sleep in a room that u don't study in..
dunno if this can help.. but I read these tips.. it also said that u gotta forget about everything when about to sleep.. and concentrate on the idea that u want to sleep..
all the best sister :)
I wish I had such a hardworking brain

mashallah...RA.........well.........floret gave some good tips.......i would like to add.......try thinking about something else..before sleeping..hmm...for example make it a habit..to check sabla..for 15-30 mins before you sleep.....with all these threads with different ideas...that could help...to make you think of something else.. :D
best of luck......
P.S....Good luck in the exam..or assignment...:)
RA, the answer to your problem is clear. You need to have a child or two... you will be so exhausted by the end of that day, that you will fall asleep before you can say... bismica rabbi... and there is no way you will wake up before you have had a good 8 hours. Oops, sorry, thats a lie...of course you will, for the kids who either need a nappy change, or a bottle, or just a cuddle.
Ok, I dont know:( .
this is very exciting Raffee.. I like children :)
loolz Raffee........if I suddenly had "a child or two" I think I'd have bigger problems than lack of sleep :p
but guys I do read before I sleep....quran, stories....ect. unless I'm too tired.
De, I get on the sabla for around 30-45 minutes daily and sometimes I think that is a bit much (ma bal qabil 3an anaam!)
btw, thanks for the luck, I'll need it .
floret when you only get 5 hours of sleep daily you won't wish for this ;) oh and I have to study/sleep in the same room so.......
I'm soo tired of this......it's like I'm alergic to sleep :duh:
Same problem here!!! ummm, I've also tried loads of ways to try and have a good night sleep, but nothing seems to work. People always tell me that my eyes look really tired...
I guess the best thing is to stop studying after 10, have something warm to drink, then go to bed, why not try and make some plans that would make you look forward to doing, like planning on going out with some friends, etc.... these things might help you to divert your attention from your work, dunno!

Masha allah....
Runnin Around maybe u should try runnin around doing somthing else or talk to someone b4 u go to bed, maybe call a close friend and talk about girl stuff and other things that would keep u thinking after the call and while ur going to bed.
Good luck and hope somthin works. :)
Don;t worry its not a huge problem at all,,, it just shows how much you are into ur studies.. and of course stress plays a very big role in it for sure.
But you want my advice Girl - take a nice warm shower of even a bath if it is possible before you sleep by an hour. After that.. drink a glass of warm milk, and you will see the benefit, you would sleep before even thinking AT ALL!
And hey.. I wish you all the best of luck.... plus i want the luck too as i will be having exams soon too...!
