Austrian Roman Catholic Bishop Kurt Krenn called Islam a fanatical religion in a magazine interview published on Sunday.

Krenn, bishop of St Poelten, told the weekly news magazine Profil that Roman Catholicism was in competition with Islam, citing census figures showing the percentage of Catholics in Austria was falling as the percentage of Muslims rose.

"Islam is not stronger, just more fanatical. And it is not the true religion, anyway," Krenn, 66, told Profil.

"We know we are the true religion and we approach the conflict with Islam from this conviction."

The bishop's office could not be reached to confirm the interview, but Krenn's official Web site (http:/www.stjosef.at/bischof.k.krenn) carried a link to the interview.

Krenn drew criticism in August for referring to Islam's inroads in Austria as a repeat of the historical Turkish sieges of Vienna in the 16th and 17th centuries…

While the number of Muslims remained low at 4.2 percent, that more than doubled the two percent of 1991 and trailed just behind Protestants, at 4.7 percent last year.

You can say that Islam is the true religion and others can't ? Quit the hypocrisy ! I'm glad that people are now slowly dropping the mask of political correctness and are beginning to speak their mind.

You have as much right to your opinions as everyone else does.

Mr.Sanwin,
You have nothing to happy with it. I welcome more rude comments so your mask could be open. You might have not notice that in the thread I have not passed any comments about any religion. Krenn, bishop of St Poelten and you commenting on us. You surely represent your community and it is important to open your mask. Let Muslim Ummah realize who are there friend and who are not. In spite of all efforts, people are embracing Islam more and more all over the world.

Come on Shams, we know why you posted this.

Funny how you muslims seem to believe that only you have the right to state your beliefs loudly and clearly even if they happen to be rude and hurtful to others. Well look know, someone else is doing the same thing. He wasn't insulting Islam he was expressing his beliefs and he has evey right to do so.

As for my mask, well there is none. I have never pretended to be something other that what I actually am. I have always spoken my mind and I will continue to do so.

Whether you like it or not.

I solemnly declare that ours believe is correct. With the same time I solemnly declare that if any one criticize your religion, faith, I will fight against them with you shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand. You have all the right to up hold your believe but no right to try defame other with malicious intention.
Ask to your soul, what Krenn, bishop of St Poelten whom you advocating , wanted mean by “Islam is not stronger, just more fanatical. And it is not the true religion, anyway,"
Quote“ When your intellect confused by hearing conflicting statements, will rest, steady and undistracted (in meditation) on God, you will then attain Yoga (for lasting union with God). Unquote. Verse No.53, Chaper II, BHAGAVAD -GITA.
What we know about Islam? Islam is the religion who does not allow us to criticize others religion.
Well, as far I am concern, I am here with a self-imposed mission. On the net I shall try for the unity of Muslim Ummah and I shall try to shake the conscious of our brotherhood, I will try to show them how others are focusing them, so they can awake up.

By solemly declaring that your belief is correct you are by implication saying that all other beliefs are false.

Are you willing to say that Christianity and Hinduism and Judaism are all true faiths along with Islam ?

How is your statement any different from the statement made by the bishop which you obviously found objectionable ?

Well Mr. Sanwin,
Yes, when I declare that I am correct, it means that I deny to accepting the other theology. It is your fundamental right to choose which one is correct. But this is not the focal point here. Till my join in Sabla, I have not found a single thread or reply where any Muslim tried to defame others faith. I am quoting a verse from Holly Qur’an, which is self-explanatory, and I am aware that it is not any new information to you.
Quote: “ O disbelievers! I worship not that which ye worship;
Nor worship ye that which I worship.
And I shall not worship that which ye worship.

Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.” Unquote. Verse 109.
None of us are trying to criticize The Bible, The Veda , Upanishads, Gita here on board ( There may be spell mistake , coz I read its Bengali Translation), which you are trying always.
Lastly Mr.Sanwin,
My statement is quite different; I am loudly announcing my faith humbly but not striking others.
