Has anyone heard about this before? do you know how we could get vision impairment" ? and how much it could affect our eye sight?!
Many of us think that people who are blind can only see black. Yet surprisingly, over 90% can see the sun 93 million miles away.
People with a vision impairment see things in different ways. Some may see light but can't distinguish an object or a person's face. Others can see during the day but are blind at night. Some even have enough sight to read a book or computer screen but can't see the numbers displayed on a bus. http://www.guidedogs.com.au/vision/images/eye_imap.jpg[/url]
I was watching this program on T.V few days back where it was talking about vision impairment. Apparently, in Australia especially in Queensland, it has said that over eighty thousand Queenslanders who suffer some kind of vision impairment, with fifty percent of all vision loss being preventable. While older people are aware of the dangers, it’s the younger sun lovers that eye experts have in their sights.
what am wondering, do we have such a problem back home? Being in Australia, the sun is really close to the surfes, which tends to casue heaps of problems not to only the eyes, but even skin. So it came to my mind in oman do we have ppl that suffer from vision impairment ?
Over here in Australia they are Encouraging ppl to wear SHADES especially Australian Standard Sunglasses. Not only that but they are as well going to push to have sunglasses become part of school uniforms, with eye experts keen to prevent severe problems later in life.
would love to hear your opinion ppl about this matter, what do you think about it, and are they ppl out there suffering from this or not!
To me, i cna;t seem to go out with out shades on, i can;t even open my eyes if i am not wearing shades, my eyes are really sensative. And i truly believe that those ppl who are explored to the sun for a long time could have such problem just like Dr Andrew Apel is one of Queensland's leading eye surgeons and says problems like pterigiums, which is a form of sun induced eye disease, are becoming more common.
