This post of mine is influenced by the post by 'samaki' entitled knowledge a key to success.

Last week when by accident, while in the TV room, I happened to be watching al-jazeera TV and there was that beautiful North African presenter, Laila Shayeb. A pompous voice came on the air and the caller identified herself as Noora. She was calling from the KingDom of the Saudi Arabia. She struggled in an attempt to contribute on a discussion about USA / Iraq issue. Alas, she ended up summarizing her statement as follows. "Iraq has not weapons.... and this 'ABD' from Kenya" the Laila could get the message, but asked for clarification and Noora, repeated "this Abd, from Kenya, Kofi," Laila clarified that he was not a Kenyan then Noora, concluded that "But he is ABD from Africa, he is from Africa". Laila had enough of the caller and thus ended up the discussion, telling "noble Saudi Lady, that geographical origin of a person did not matter much than a topic".

What I want to say is that it episode shows how much of arab race is un-islamic even from the country that is regarded to be a craddle of this Great Religion people are still in dark ages. They don't read and learn true Islam, instead they take life a wealth for granted and see all other people as their owned Abid. From this platform I wish to ask the 'Noble Arabs' of the Kingdom of the Saudi Arabia and elsewhere to convert to Islam from the eithiestic tendencies. Not all black people are ABID and those on the continent of Africa are just as free as anyone else on this planet if not better. And Kofi Anan is serving the world in his own rights unlike others who do 4 their country by right of inheritance.

I searched that particular programme on the internet at www.aljazeera.net but in vain.

Wasalam.

Desert_Sloth,
Those who are the follower of Prophet Mohammad (Pbuh), they have the only identity “Ummath- e -Mohammadi” or Muslim Ummah. If possible please come forward with the translation of last speech of Prophet Mohammad (Pbum).

In my opinion, Dear Desert and Dear Sham have not disagreed in this subject. Desert criticizes a bad act of this woman to refer to another as Abd (slave). Indeed this act is not Islamic. It is also important to know that to be an African does not mean to be a slave just as to be a white does not mean to be free. Actually, the term "slavery" has for a long time been remaining in books as part of the world history - it is lost in remote past.

One day during the time of the Prophet, a certain sahaba said to his fellow sahaba who was a freed slave- in the presence of the Prophet; he said to him that: "you the son of a black woman."
The Prophet became angary to the dgree that his face became red, and then he said to him: "you are a man in whom there is an ignorance." So this woman who called another "abd" has an ingnorance in her mentality.

But justice requires us not to generalize all people, for in every society some are pious and others are not; some are obedient, others are disobedient. Though it is true that many relative societies in the word have some habits in common.

As for Dear Sham, as far as I have understood him, he feels that this woman has realy mistaken but this mistake of hers does not mean that she is not a Muslim so long as she believes in the 5 pillars of Islam and 6 pillars of faith and believes in the Qur'an and the Prophetic traditions. As such Dear Sham feels that the word "convert" is sronger for the one that has already accepted Islam. And instead we should say that "to return to ral Islam."

So Ihave said that there is no disagreement between you, beacause Dear Desert feels that the act of that woman is unIslamic, and that she needs to return to true Islam. Dear, Sham agrees that the act is unIslamic but she is still a muslim. So no difference because the former calls for true Islam without denying her total Islam; whereas the latter attributes to her a general truth of Islam.

Thank you very much.
Mzanz.

Mzanzibari thank you for your answer. But how could search blind hearted people get enlightened ?

However, I think the woman in question, NOORA her name from Saudia, may be sufferring some sort of inferiority complex ?

Incidentally my name is 'sloth' a desert sloth. Not Desert as such.
Thank you.
