Iran: Man Beheads 7-year-old Daughter

The Iranian newspaper Jomhuri-i-Islami prints an article in which it is claimed that an Iranian man cut the head off his seven-year-old daughter, convinced that she had been raped by her uncle.

After being arrested, he claimed that “The motive was to defend my honour and dignity”. Rape in Iran is seen as a shame and a dishonour for the family of the victim and because of this, the crime usually goes unreported and unpunished.

Though the move cannot be supported morally but you are to look to the other side of the coin too. For a Muslim family it’s a matter of disgrace.

Provided he's actually guilty, of course.

What ever happened to the idea that a person who has been raped is a victim and should be consoled, protected, and healed - not further punished ?

I hear about stories like this all the time and they disgust me.
The father is talking about honour and dignity, how does he think people will look at him after they hear he killed his own daughter?
