will devices that use wireless and infrared technology (wireless telephone , Keyboard , mouse , remore control ) , have side effects on the human body ?

what if someone pointed a remore control towards you instead of the TV , any harm expected ?

nice question e-creativity..
well there are certain limit in using energy..
i don't know about the amount of energy in remotes control and infra red energy,, but i look for it.. but what i think they are not that high to cos harm..

Cordless peripherials like mice, keyboards, and even headphones and the like use mostly radio technology or infra-red to transmit signals.

Both are pretty harmless because of their low-wavelength, and hence are prone to poor reception (those who use cordless mice and keyboards know what I'm talking about.)

What say you?

yeap tomorrow if i get a chance i will go to the library to check medical physics book cos they usually contain these informations...
but that is what i think they are of low energy, thus can't coz harm

About half or energy from the sun is in the ifra-red region (IR), thw warmth we feel from the sun is due to the IR.,
IR are usually not hazardous even they are focused at the cornea , lens and retiba of the eye.. however looking at sun directly through a filter ( plastic sunglass) that remove most of the visible light and allows most of the IR wavelength pass through can coz burning in the eye retina ?( the film of the eye)
But reconsidering radiation it is important to know about a term used for radiation exposure called Roentgen (R) , a measure of the amount of electrical charge produced by ionization in air.. to say wether radiation can cos damage or not it is important to know about the surface exposed to radiation ,, EAP ( exposure area prodct)..

Thus u have to combine surface area exposed to radiation and energy that radiation carry,,,
And a keep in mind the higher is the energy the more penetration to body tissue.. and the lower is energy the less penetration the more absorption thus more damage… thus when giving x-ray there should be a filter to remove all low energy rays.

We don't need "facts" Fahad. We only need to get a cool drink and sit in a chair and reason as to whether commercial IR devices might cause us harm.

Since I own stock in a company that produces IR equipment, AND I don't wish to cause others harm, THEREFORE commercial IR equipment doesn't cause harm.

Soooooo much easier than looking at facts, eh, "scientist" ?

what is wrong with u wnaderer,,,
i am not forcing u i just gave information...

Wonday

I would check your premises AND your logical argument, sell your stock and buy something else instead.

What, you're whacked, man.

Are you asking me to lead the way ?

Pretty grouchy today... wandy... maybe Fahad went overkill with the info... but still no need to get all nasty about it.

We stray off the topic but:

Company A sells product, I own stock in Company A, so Company A's product can't cause harm.

So if Company A=Exxonmobil (for example) are you saying burning fossil fuels causes no harm? I mean ... think ways to kill the discussion negatively.

Boys, boys, boys.

My dear Orion and Talius,

I was messing with Fahad because I don't believe he applies the same standards of research and logic to the various scientific areas he posts to (especially the whole anatomy and evolution stuff). I applied the (faulty) logic I was seeing elsewhere to the subject at hand to see how silly it would be.

I'm sorry you missed that.

BTW - Orion, you got the logic wrong. YOu could have stated: I have ownership in Company A, Company A makes IR devices, I wouldn't be involved in anything that causes harm, THEREFOR IR devices don't cause harm.

Fahad, I'll be nice now. I'm reinventing myself.

mr wandere , tell me if i was wrong in teh information i gave above...
if u r not happy about something say it and u r free to say if i have mistaken , cos i am not perfect.

I feel enlightened now... is that a ray of light I feel.

I wasn't saying it was logical. In fact I was saying the opposite.

General Dynamics hasn't perfected the light ray as a weapon yet.

But the US military has almost perfected a plasma gun for 'drilling'.... so they say.

The only thing the US military has perfected is incompetence

Do you not like how we have positioned our military in your country, or do you just not like our military?

InnovaTek

Founded: 1997 in Richland

Employees: 12

What it does: Makes a portable air sampler called BioGuardian for detecting biological pathogens such as anthrax within minutes. It is being developed for the military and being made rugged enough to be dropped from a helicopter. The company also is developing a plasma gun for killing biological-warfare bacteria in cockpits or military gear.

Cost: About $10,000 each
