As we know, Mohammed was Khadija's third husband and that she had children before she married Mohammed.
The daughters that Khadija had were Fatima, Zainab, Ruqayya, and Ummu Kulthoom.
I understand that there is a bit of confusion about who was the father of Zainab, Ruqayya, and Ummu Kulthoom - ie some say it was Mohammed and some say it was Khadija's second husband.
Can anyone help?

There isnt any confusion that I know of. Prophet Mohammed Peace be upon him was the Father of Zainab, Ruqqaya, and Umm Kulthum.
As Thug4life said, check you sources coz you could find anything you want if you want to beleive it.

Why you are raising sensitive question all the times? What is the intention behind it? If you are fair enough, please study the Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) life. Please do not create confusion. We should try to keep harmony.

by the by, although it's not strictly this topic:
are there definite traceable lines of inheritance back to Mohammed? I know the Ismailis claim this, but is is substantiated by other Mulsims?

The source was an Islamic website
http://www.al-islam.org/masoom/bios/khadija.htm

There are probably many things that you have not heard of
What can't be denied is that this is an Islamic site
Now, why is there confusion over the daughters?
I also understand that Khadija had 3 sons from her first marriage - Hind, al-Tahir and Halah
what happened to them?
alternatively, you could bury your head in the sand.
Incidentally are you taught to dismiss everything as false when you first hear it?
i asked my aunt to give me a book which is highly recommend and can get the exact information and accurate about the above Question although i don’t believe its true i guess id check it out and get back to you later on this evening.

There are many web sites, which is engaged to defame Muslims and Islam. Yes, there is contradistinction among the Muslim. But those entire things are not much important. Which is important is the teaching of Holly Qur’an. Am I correct?

So it is not important?
Interesting

No , this is not important. First you study the life of Prophet and revelation on him. You will get the answer of your question. If you are honest to your conscious read and understand it first with open mind. That’s my humble suggestion.
Well Mr.Pino I found this in the site you supplied:
One of the problems, which disturbed Fatima, was that some of her father's wives were envious and jealous of her. Certain wives of the Prophet (S) developed psychological complications against Fatima, because of the special treatment the Prophet bestowed upon her and the great love and kindness that he favored her with.
Al-Majlisi (May Allah bless his soul) narrated in Bihar that Imam Sadiq (A) said:
"The Messenger of Allah entered his house to find Aisha yelling at Fatima, saying:
`By Allah, O Khadija's daughter, you feel that your mother was better than us; but what favor does she have above us? Is she not saved like us?'
The Prophet (S) heard Aisha's shouting. When Fatima saw him, she began to cry; the Prophet (S) then said:
`What makes you cry, O daughter of Muhammad?'
Fatima said: 'Aisha degraded my mother, and this has caused me to cry.'
The Messenger of Allah (S) angrily said: `Hush, O Humaira (reddish woman)!! Surely Allah (Exalted is His Name) blessed this devoted and fertile woman; and Khadija (may Allah bless her soul) gave birth to my children, Al-Tahir (Abdullah) who was purified, A1-Qasim, Ruqayya, Um Kulthum, and Zainab; but Allah has created you with a sterile womb so you do not give birth to any children."
Many other unappreciated utterances were made by Aisha against Fatima Zahra (A); which reflects the deep inborn deviation from which Aisha suffered, was not observed in any other of the Prophet's wives.
This narration clearly states that Khadija's daughters were all the Prophet's direct daughters and not step-daughters. There are also many other proofs, which pertain to this fact; but we will deal with them in another book, for this is not the place for such a study.
wait , I just realised you asked about the other three
I'll try to check that out
ok I found something, it says (the site is in arabic and I'm not the world's best translator) that Zainab (the oldest) WAS Mohammed's daughter, she was born when he was 30 years old, and it comments on Khadija's joy on seeing her husband play with their first girl.
Now I saw that site (islam.org) that spoke of the controversy, but I have been learning about Islam for 9 years and have never heard of these girls not to be his daughters......I was very surprised when I read your post.
about the boys, it is written very clearly what happened to them in islam.org

Dear runnin' around,
I think number of children, wives are not primarily important. Most important is that you know him first.
Anyway,thanks for your post.
shamsery what you say is true, but when a non-muslim asks any question about Islam and it's prophet, it is a muslim's duty to answer, in order to try to convince and spread Islam.

runnin' around,
No doubt, your post is with valuable information. You deserve thanks for the act. I put emphasis on the chronological study of Holly Qur’an and Prophet Mohammad (Pbuh). The man who does not know alphabet how he/she can read Shakespeare.
In the other hand we can not deny your logic too. Thanks.
