Please read this in conjuction to the post 'which type of muslim you are' by yellow sapphire.

This poem has been sent to me by a very good friend of mine, and I think it is worth sharring with you guys.

I am A Muslim Woman - by Jenn Zaghloul :


I am a Muslim woman
Feel free to ask me why
When I walk,
I walk with dignity
When I speak
I do not lie


I am a Muslim woman
Not all of me you'll see
But what you should appreciate
Is that the choice I make is free


I'm not plagued with depression
I'm neither cheated nor abused
I don't envy other women
And I'm certainly not confused


I run my own small business
Every cent I earn is mine
I drive my car to school & work
And no, that's not crime !


You often stare as I walk by
You don't understand my veil
But peace and power I have found
As I am equal to any male !


I am a Muslim woman
So please don't pity me
For God has duided me to truth
And now I'm finally free!

My Dear Talius Brute,

The situation of Muslim Women has become a topic of concern for sometimes, and it has been viewed amongst the educated ones that the West is behind all the presure that Muslim Women are being subjected to. See for example the unrestness of Tunisian wemen, and the immigrants in France and the working wemen in Turkey. If TB, you are from the UK or USA there is no problem there. Muslims in those countries are very comfortable with only the exception of the post 9/11 incident.

The poem above, according to my friend, it is related to the Kingdom of the Saudi Arabia. I think, ladies are now permitted to drive 'seyyarats' ? you could be well informed because I've not yet been there.

EYD, I posted the Iranian Female Clothing article because I thought some might find it interesting.

Sloth, as you know I am from the Uk,
I saw a very rich Muslim woman in Selfridges yesterday, dressed all in black and swishing about the store surrounded by 4 body guards, no one stared.

My obinion is locked in the garage.

But my opinion is that my future wife will be stark naked and chained to the bed all the time. I will have French maids to cook and clean.
