Islam is indeed spreading like never before in the states and in every part of the Globe..

Despite of the propaganda proposed in the west against Islam, many many people are entering Islam.. I heard an Imam once say that after september 11th, about 130,000 people converted to Islam in America.. people became more exposed to the word "Islam"..so they try to seek more information about the religon..

InshaAlla Islam will continue to rise in the west..

Yes... you must admit this and other articles are amazing considering that conservative establishments like the US military are anti-muslim ... every day we here reports from that within the FBI to the Secret Service to the State Department are many individuals - large group WASPS and other important demographic groups - with strong suspicions and bigotry they have for Islam.

You must admit Wanderer that from Alaska to Florida and Hawaii to Rhode Island people are researching something that speaks to them in a very meaningful way...

Don't you think it's pretty amazing considering the decades of media-bashing through Hollywood cliche movies or poorly written journalism being reported, that Islam still somehow overcomes such powerful influences over popular opinion and an almost prefected propaganda tool that the sole superpower can muster?

The negative misonceptions has blemished it ... caused strong mistrust both ways it has but I still feel when it comes spreading a message of peace, love and justice in God's last perfected religion... it will have won the hearts and minds in the end.

TB, sorry we cant force you to accept a relaity and a very simple fact, Islam is the fastest growing Religion, in the West and in the World sorry, I know truth hurts..but you gotta accept it..

And, what you're claiming, that most converts are prisoners..it could be true, that there are mant prisoners who convert to Islam, and we are very proud of that, coz I have seen many cases were those prisoners have changed to the better, and have become more productive members of society, after their acceptance of Islam.. nothing shaemful about that..

Yet, you do find doctors, engineers, people of every class in the social spectrum who convert to Islam (by the way, the president of Gabon is a convert)..I have met in the US converts who come from different social backgrounds..I have met many converts who go to Ivy Leagues....I have also met converts who come from very arostratic families....and the list goes on...

Well, I can tell you that from my 9 years in the Army, the US military is not anti-Muslim or any other religion. Heck, we have witch/Wiccan acknowledgement in the Army. The leg bone worship thing wasn't readily accepted though.

What I did see was several "African-American" males trying to convert to Nation of Islam - not exactly mainstream Islam what with their UFOs and new Prophet, etc. I rember one in particular, Baily, who was both illiterate and paranoid and it caused quite a stir when we'd sit and I'd help him write letters to his girlfriend. He never addressed the envelopes and was so sure that God would get the letters to his girlfriend.

He was discharged from the Army a bit early after threatening to poison the platoon when he had kitchen duty.

I note that in the example in the news story, the woman "converting" is already married to a Muslim. Hardly a big deal her conversion.

The Spanish are found in Spain.

What one finds in the "New World" are not Spanish but Hispanic Mestizo (mix) and Indian.

A diet largely composed of beans, rice and corn is nutritionally sound.

I am anxious to try "Tapas" in Spain.

A big chunck of my family (on my sister's side) is Hispanic. None appear greasy.
