i tried searching but cant find anything well thats short and straight to the point that is
http://www.verticalmeasures.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/link-building-gold-men-300x300.jpg
I think it's Haram because of the followings:
-its like men imitating the zeenah (wearings) of the women which men not allowed to do.
-poor muslims will envy and feel bad for rich men who would wear gold
-wearing gold for men will be allowed only in heaven as stated in the holy Quran
:DWat I know Gold is only 4 softy people...So if u want softy husband...Just hunting any one wear Gold...:D:p:cool:

I think jewelry of all kind is really gay.
Diamonds are just highly polished rocks. Gold is just a very resilient metal.
The only gold I own is one Krugerand. I should probably sell it right now, but I like keeping it.
Diamonds and Gold have usefulness in industrial capacities. As for the cosmetic aspect, I find it amusing that some people are literally dazzled by things that are shiney and sparkly.
lol...
There are many reasons but one good reason for men not to wear gold because the gold particles go to whatever it has contact with, so the gold particles goes to the blood if worn, and this process is called "Gold Particle Migration".
The harmful substance won't be removed from the man's body but it will be removed from the women's body through the menstrual cycle. I've also made a quick search and found out that every single person that suffers from Alzheimer's disease has a huge amount of gold in their body.
From my knowledge I could be wrong its actually forbidden. But also without looking into religion if you look at it in health point of view, I have heard something mentioning that gold effects men with some sort of balance in the body, it may not be noticable, and may be so harmful, but it does do something. I will try and see where I read this.
Assim: seems you mentioned it before me while I was typing... :)

^ Thats what i wanted to post.
And it took science all this time to find out about this when Muslims knew that it wasn't good from the start.
Okay, here are some Hadith that talk about Gold being Haram for men, not only that but as well Silk!
Abdullah ibn Abbaas reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw a gold ring on a man’s hand. He took it off and threw it aside, saying, “Would any of you take a burning coal and hold it in his hand?” When the Messenger of Allah (Pbuh) had gone away, someone said to the man, “Take your ring and benefit from it (i.e., sell it).” He said, “No, by Allah, I will not take it after the Messenger of Allah (Pbuh) has thrown it away.” (Muslim).
This prohibition applies to men only, not to women, as Ali, (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet of Allah (Pbuh) took a piece of silk in his right hand and a piece of gold in his left, and said: “These are forbidden for the males of my ummah.” (Reported by al-Nisaa and Abu Dawud).
Reasons behind why god prohibited a men to wear Gold and silk, as those items are specially designed and made for women, to show their feminine side, where a men wearing those things would give another interpretation, as well it’s a sign of instability and an un-masculine nature to for a men to decorate themselves with gold. Islam wants the differences between the sexes to be marked clearly, and their individual characteristics to stand out, because when they resemble one another, much corruption results from them
Allah said: Al Ahzab 43:18" وَمَن يُنَشَّأُ فِي الْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِي الْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍ
"And one who is brought up in adornments, and who in dispute cannot make itself clear?" [Az-Zukhruf 43:18]

What I heard is that gold makes the person wearing it more feminine that's why men cant wear it. And it was proven somehow.

Sometimes there are no specific explanation for many religious matters such as this... But many might argue that its because Gold has been known to be used by females, and Islam doesn't want men to act or look like women, or vice-versa. Also muslims should be humble, so while women can wear it as a jewelry, men are not supposed to have pleasure in an meaningful things. Another explaining can be the fact that men in the roman empire used to pamper them selves with gold; and muslim men shouldn't try to copy them.

I was wondering about that. What if a man's wearing a gold wedding band?
Another explaining can be the fact that men in the roman empire used to pamper them selves with gold; and muslim men shouldn't try to copy them.
And that explains how in the days of the Roman Empire, Gays factor was so common, and they loved wearing Silk too!
The ONLY gold that looks great on a man is the wedding ring.
True, but I guess silver, Platinum is great too, and that is not forbbidon! I love seeing a man with a silver neckless, just find it sexy!! my opinion that is!
There was a study, that proved that gold has this psychological matter which makes men gay/girly... I'm not joking.
Not just Gold, silk too.
Mainly because gold symbolizes wealth and power, which may lead a person to become arrogant and feel superior to who doesn't wear it, which could cause a contrariety in a society to has and who doesn't have it. So it is mainly a way to eliminate segregation from the aspect of wealth.
Why men? Because they're more susceptible. :P

im not talking fashion 101
u wanna talk about how it looks go elsewhere
and i think that gold going into your system amkes more sense than being gay
^You want reasons, they give you reasons. And it ain't just one or two... it's more and if the study relates between the two (Gayness-Gold), you can't not take it as a another reason for it being haram.
^^^ that is no reason!! looking gay shakoo i dont think it has majic powers

It ain't magic powers, if you think of it... any accessory element might make a person feel girly. Psychologically speaking, so if you wear silk of gold, you feel feminine... and then a person who was once a man started to believe he's gay.

Gold is awfully vain, and vanity in men should be eliminated. A perfectly understandable ruling. I prefer silver, on women too :p

Yes, people are different but keeping in mind this is the Islamic forum, then there is nothing called generalizing in religious matters, gold is forbidden in Islam for a number of reasons, and I guess most of them were mentioned in the posts above. Whether it makes them look gay or not, whether it looks hot or not, those are just opinions, but keeping in mind this is posted in the Islamic forum, it's forbidden for men to wear gold and recent scientific research proves that.
try to explain how they become gay? wheres the proof? buthy your so childish im not askign if they're gay im asking WHY CANT THEY which someone explain i when they said about the metal going into you system

Tara, they can't because of that and other reasons.
This has to do with femininity and separating feminine objects from males to preserve a separation between "feminine" and "masculine" so to speak...
Things that are commonly worn by women e.g. jewelry (specifically gold, as was the most commonly worn in those days) and silk are therefore not meant to be worn by men.
Ya5oo answers.
buthy your so childish
LOL! Okay, excuse you!
^^ u r ur trying to convince me and u have with some people that men wearing gold somehow become gay?
prove it
god has made men physics differnt than women in many ways like weekeness, passivity, and lethargy, Islam has forbidden for a noble cause for us i guess we should make sure that we could never break this out

thankooo for sharing man
well, i have heard fine gold dust is good for treating arthritis. goldsmiths sometimes consume small amount of gold filing because they feel it is medicinal.
i agree with russo on two point: 1. this thread is hilarious. 2. prohibition for men to wear the gold probably to keep the vanity in check. besides, if you wear gold you may be get rolled.
^^ u r ur trying to convince me and u have with some people that men wearing gold somehow become gay?
prove it:DListen young Lady, if u think gold is good 4 men than Y u asked the Q?
If u both want 2 wear gold...no problems as long ur happy with him-Wat I think any man that wants 2 marry u-will marry u no matter what....:D:p:mmhmm::cool:
Sorry, but the whole idea of wearing gold turning men gay is laughable, and nothing but old wives tales, which as Muslims we are supposed to ignore. Some people really are still caught in the dark ages.
Ali (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) took silk in his right hand and gold in his left and said 'These two are haram for the males of my followers'.
It is also reported that the Prophet (SAW) saw a man wearing a gold ring. He took it off his hand and threw it to the ground saying 'Does a person pick up a piece of burning coal and hold it in his hand?'
Prohibitions such as this and the one against silk is an Islamic way of combating luxuriousness in living, which as the Qur'an points out leads to 'weakness in nations and their eventual downfall' as stated by Sheikh Yusuf al Qardawi in Al Halal wal Haram Fil Islam. He also states that such luxury is an expression of social injustice, as not everyone can afford such adornments.
Therefore, it is not about preventing men being gay (which doesn't happen by wearing gold); it is about safeguarding against vain spending which will ultimately lead to our own downfall.
May Allah (SWT) protect us from superstition and ignorance.
^ I'm just sayin' :dev:

Ya Geya ya Sweetie it all has been said! Gold for men, it'll make them look soft and in Islamic guidance, men should stay tough and never go to women stuff, and women should stay soft and never go for manly things!! You know that hadith which says that men who try to be like women, or the women who try to be like men are cursed!
Well, the toughest, least gay guys you could imagine in America wear gold wedding bands. I do too.
If it's about luxuriousness then it should be about all jewelry, not gold. And all fine clothes...and fancy cars and all other things like that. No fine clothes of any kind.
I'm all for encouraging manliness. And I do see some connection there. But it's an imperfect one.
^ Gold is a universal medium of exchange, other Jewelery not so much.

Smart! Buthy you are great! :)
Look: you don't have to know the reason for every rule. It's enough to say: People need rules; God gives them some.
People need a way to pray. God gives them that.
People need rules for dressing. God gives them those.
You dont' have to be able to "explain" every rule for the rule to be logical.
If God is going to have a People, those people need customs. They need "random" ways to regulate their lives. Because what's random isn't random.
It's enough to say....gold has some drawbacks...it tends to do this, it tends to do that...maybe there are other reasons. But perhaps those are the reasons.
And gold SYMBOLIZES luxuriousness. So God told men not to wear it as a SYMBOL Of giving up luxuriousness.
That way the rule is fine and you can defend it. But you don't have to try to prove that if another society wears gold all the men will be gay or luxurious.
Because trying to prove that will prove impossible.
But you don't have to try to prove that if another society wears gold all the men will be gay or luxurious.
Because trying to prove that will prove impossible.:DI don't recall anyone saying "You're gay if you wear gold''
Wat we have said b4....If u are wearing gold ur going 2 b soft like lady that all...:D:cool:
