Dear christian

There is something that is very puzzleing to me.

In Jn 8:58, Jesus implies that he is God, he talked the talk, but did he walk the walk?
"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" (John 8:58)
"Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by." (John 8:59)

If Jesus, who previously performed many miracles, sugested that he was a god, why not stand and prove it ? Why run and hide ?

For example:

If I go into a town, and tell the people there that I am Superman, then when someone trys to prove me false by throwing uncooked hamburgers at me, I can do one of two things, I can prove I am Superman by cooking the hamburgers in mid-air with my heat vission, or run and hide for fear of getting clunked in the head with a frozen hamburger pattie.

Now if I run and hide, then surely this proves I am not Superman.
So that is my confusion, why would Jesus make such a claim and then run and hide?

Jesus nor superman had to hurt the attackers, only sheild themselves with their Powers, as superman sheilds himself from citizens who "know not what they do", why didn't Jesus?
If Jesus wanted them to know he was a god, why completely discrediting himself by runing away from the rocks instead of making the rocks into butterflies?.

your bible says the earth is approximately 4-5000 years old.
can you prove it.

I have the answers to you is that you either :

1* somebody who is seeking the truth to judge religoens, and that he will be neutral in his comparison in a scientific amd mental way

2* or you are a type of persons who loves to attack Islam, because he hate it and he does not tolerate Muslims, and he had wrong prejustice, and he doesn't seek the real truth as we have seen in many of the post.!

If you are the second type please don't proceed reading my next post...because you will reach no where except with your hate!
If you respect the scientific and logic analysis and reaching a result or a conclusion from your science without interefering with your feeling toward things which I hope so.. I will be happy if you can open your eyes and ears to hear!
but still i have hope that you might be group No. 1.

Sorry to say......but to my knowledge......it's better NOT to cook flying hamburgers....Also I was hit in the head one time by a flying cooked burger, it's not a pretty sight.....

Anyway....back to the point......or attempt....to make a point.....

Most religious texts are written 100-200 years after the fact and the original languages are not as accurate as today or have different meanings.....also in those days very few people could read or write.....so to debate the meaning of this particular part of the text or that usually just invites a lot of different opinions.......and some outright hostile ones too.

Most likely......you would insult Christians.......by saying Jesus is.....weak....or something like that.....

It's the same when people insult Islam.....however, the leader of Iran issued a death sentence.....for critisizing Islam....what does this say?

I honestly don't believe people hate Islam as you imply, but will challange many things as you do...

Is that disrespectful?

It would be nice if all people could respect the others beliefs, but I guess you know that..right?

Bro. fatak,
I am very upseet of some members who refuse to understand what we said about many subjects related to islam, as we explained many times thing like divorce or polygamy and other things but i am suprised they still attacking the islam with.
if they want to recognise the islam view on these subjects they can ask and we feel free to answer, but if they dont want, then we need to ask them about their religion, so they can clerify clerify what is vegue in our mind, like what i have asked above and we can make things clearly with scietific and logis basis.

Excellent 1st question, Samaki.

For the second question, there are a variety of interpretations held by various Christian sects regarding the age of the Earth. I know some who believe the Earth is only 6 - 7 thousand years old. Many, if not most, believe that the Earth is very old, but life is only 6 - 7 thousand years old. This is based on "In the begining, God created the heavens and the Earth ..." There is no mention of a specific timetable.
