Shall i start throwing my questions? :)
1.Who introduced you to the English sabla?!
2.Tell us more about your Major, what made you choose it?! and how do you find it?!
thanks amoor,it's good to know that someone wants to know more about me
ST, Bimzoori was the one who introduced me to the sable. She alwasy asked me to join but i wasn't very sure, but then as I continued reading all the topics i thought that i wanted to reply to some of them, so finally i ended up joining you guyz.
Well about my major, it was my own decision, i've always loved medicine and always will, but it's no piece of cake i tell you!! you're always under pressure and many times i just wonder why i'm doing this, but then that's how life is, you work hard to get what you want.;)
Bimzoori 27-07-02, 04:19 PM Interesting profile ya Doctor..
My questions,,
** what do you like/dislike about your self?
*** You are almost 20 years old, and you say you are "too young to get married", at what age, do you think, would you be "old enough" to get married?!
Thats all for now..I shall come back later if I have any further questions ;)
Dr-N,,
well seeem ur in our medical teamm..
u know i have a question for...
DOu know mee??
first u r a medical student , then u have a beetle, then the letter N...
i will get my answer if u answer this question:
are u in squh, in blood donation group...:D ?
if yess , then we know each other..
ummmmm ok what i like and dislike about myself.
what i like about myself is that i am very loyal to people around me, i can never cheat anyone and i trust people very much. Also i can never say no to any favors, if someone asks me for help, then i will.
what i really hate about myself is that i can never forgive myself easily, i usually think about what i did again and again and again, and can turn a small issue into a big one.
About marriage, i've always told everyone that i want to stay single, so that might have influened my answer, but to me the perfect age to get married would be after the age of 23, after a person has graduated and has a job in order to support a family, plus the person would be more mature and would be more responsible when it comes to the demands of marriage.
Excellent Fahad,
yes i do know you, and yes i am in squ and in the blood donation group!

What other countries have you visited?
What interested you in the medical profession?
I saw your list of countries you would like to visit.. have you no interest in visiting the UK..:( ?
What interests you in photography and what got you wanting to take pictures in the first place.?
What photograph would you most like to take.?
complete the following..
If i was given 5 million pounds i would....
in 5 years time i will be.......
Roses are red violets are blue.......
whats your 3 strongest attributes and your 3 worst weaknesses.?
Look forward to your answers
By the way thanks for the Avatar vote.. change it to number 1 or Mim will send round the heavies...:)
Hoppy
wow, seems like someone is interested in knowing me better!
ok here goe
What other countries have you visited?
I've been to Syria, Russia, UK, U.S.A, and of course U.A.E!!
What interested you in the medical profession?
Medicine is a way of helping others, a way to serve humanity, and I find it very interesting and intriguing, to me there's nothing compared to seeing a smile on a person's face, though I tell you, many times I doubt that I have chosen the right path, either because of the stress or because of lack of confidance, but then again, nothing comes easy, you have to work hard to earn what you want.
I saw your list of countries you would like to visit.. have you no interest in visiting the UK.. ?
I've been to UK, several times, in fact I was there two years ago, and I might be going again this year with my family, my grandparents have a house there, so we all have somewhere to stay, plus we've got many friends over there..
What interests you in photography and what got you wanting to take pictures in the first place.?
Photography was always something I liked, and in school my teacher helped us learn a few basics, and it helped alot, doing that, we all wanted to take more photos to show eachother that we were getting better, but then once I left school, I joined the photography group at uni, but because I was so depressed at that time, I ignored it, and now I'm so busy I don't have much time to go out and take a few shots.
What photograph would you most like to take.?
Children, esp. babies, mabye it's because I have a younger brother and sister, I just love taking pictures of the little ones, esp. when you get that one shot that is hard to take, then show it to everyone later one and impress them all!
complete the following..
If i was given 5 million pounds i would....give some to charity, give most of it to my family, so whoever needs any money is welcome to take as much as they need, but of course keep some for myself to go shopping and buy everything I want, you know girls, we just love shopping!
in 5 years time i will be.......a doctor(finally), probably living abroad doing my residency, most likely single, enjoying life and living happily!
Roses are red violets are blue.......sugar is sweet and so am I!:D
3 attributes: loyal, friendly, and always ready to help!
3 weaknesses: sensitive, can never say no, can't forgive myself easily, which makes me paranoid sometimes! believe me, or you can ask the people who know me, sometimes I just drive them crazy!
Well, I hope you enjoy it!
Hey Dr Noon.....you're pretty funny, you know that?!
Here's a serious question:
Tell us everything you've eaten and drunk in the last 48 hours.
No really! See, you're a medical professional...or at least on the way....and I think you should design "The Sabla Plan" healthy living guide to get lazy gits like me and all the fat-arsed lady sablaweeaat in shape this year :)
grasshopper 31-12-02, 07:18 PM Dr N. thanks for your answers.. I dont think sensitivity is a weakness. although i probably put it down as one of mine lol.. But im allowed.. thats the rules. .:D
Dont think this interview is over yet either. i think you got off way to lightly first time around.. Look at what ive had to put up with lol.
Happy new year to you Dr N.
Dr Noon, I like it!
Well mim, are you serious?!!! I can design a healthy plan if you want, that should be easy. And with some exercise in the plan you should be back in shape in no time!;)
Believe me, you don't wanna know what I've eaten for the last 48 hours, I've been so busy, so I've been skipping meals and eating junk food:D
grasshopper, thanks and a happy new year to you too...
Well glad that you've enjoyed it, lets see what else is coming up!
grasshopper 10-01-03, 03:17 PM Well Dr Noon time for more questions i think..
1) Fav song?
2) Fav Movie?
3) what 3 items would you take with you a deserted island?
4) Complete the following. if i was
an animal id be........
a meal or food id be...........
12 years old again id like to.........
5) If you had one wish what would it be (no wishing for more wishes.
6)Imagine im interviewing you for a job...
So Doc Noon. Why should we give you the job and not somebody else?
Look forward to your answers.
1) Fav song?
Gosh now this is difficult, well there are many! I can just go on and on...e.g. I like a song by baskstreet boys called, shape of my heart, just love it, though it's an old one!
2) Fav Movie?
A walk to remember, I found is sooo touching, it shows you how powerful true love can be, I've watched it about 8 times and I still wanna watch it again...Still cry everytime I do though!
3) what 3 items would you take with you a deserted island?
water, my best friend, and my mobile!
4) Complete the following. if i was
an animal id be........a bird, always wondered how it would feel like to be able to fly high up in the sky..
a meal or food id be...........PIZZA! he he, well you had to ask! Or maybe a chocolate cake, umm don't know why but no one can resist a yummy chocolate cake with frosting on top! Actullay I baked two last night, so maybe coz it's still in my head!
12 years old again id like to.........do all the crazy stuff that I still wanna do, but can't because I'm 20 and I'm supposed to act like a mature lady, like laugh out loudly without being yelled at, run and jump up and down, go out and have fun without thinking of all the work that I'm supposed to finish, basically BE A KID AGAIN! Well I'm still kinda crazy, everyone tells me that I never grow up!:)
5) If you had one wish what would it be (no wishing for more wishes.
I'll probably keep this one to myself;)
6)Imagine im interviewing you for a job...
So Doc Noon. Why should we give you the job and not somebody else?
Well sir, I'm not saying that you should pick me because I'm perfect, because I'm not, I'm just a human, but you should take me because you can trust me to try my best and never hesitate to do what is best to my patient, and because I'm ready to dedicate myself to my patients and be there for them whenever they need me. I might do many mistakes but I'll always try and correct them...
How's that hoppy?
:D
DeSerTDesTroYeR 10-01-03, 05:53 PM Mashallah...quite a very interesting interview!!...i think i missed it ....while i just started sabla...one of the first members i noticed..:D
alright.....now that your interview is back...some questions
Which medical branch would you like to specialize in?
What music categories do you like and listen to?
If you had a chance to bunjee jumping will you do it  and why?
-----------------
thats it for now....other for later....
Hey DD...
Well about specializing, it's too early for me to know, because I'll still in the preclinical level, but what I'm sure of, is that I want something that will give me the chance to interact more with people, something exciting and intriguing.. I love children so I might do pediatrics, maybe emergency medicine, I heard that it's gonna be needed soon around here... or maybe oncology, that is, treating cancer patients, it's a tough one though.
About music, I'm not much into it anyway, but what I like is the soft music type, anything that I like, but definitly nothing like eminem's songs!:D
Bunjee jumping eh? well my uncle tried it once when we were in London, but me, I don't think so! I can be a chicken when it comes to these things! Maybe one day when I get the courage to do it, then yeah, and I'll make sure someone videotapes it, well they do it over there anyway, and I'll show it to you!:D
NAAAAAH, I can't do it, he he, no way!:D
DeSerTDesTroYeR 11-01-03, 01:53 PM hmm..too early to decide..well..ok...i'll note down to ask you in hmm 4 years from now, inshallah
soft music.....as yanni  ...or blues.....
hehe....ok i guessed wrong it seems..... so sky diving will be out of the question....
---------------------------
Q. Any chance you have IT interests..:D ..if yes....in which field ...if not ...why not :sorry:
Aha so the IT sabla moderator is looking for some members for the IT sabla, well, I'm afraid DD, that I don't have much IT interests...
I'm addicted to the net, and I use my pc for my school work, but I'm not really into computer programs and games, I know a guy though who's just like you, maybe you should meet him, you two will have plenty to talk about!:)
grasshopper 11-01-03, 03:07 PM Hi Doc. great answers.. not sure about telling me you would make many mistakes though. Not sure that would fill the patient with confidence.. Still you did a great job in your practical assessment of mending my legs after my heel incident so ill let you off.
Right.. Next!
Heres a moral medical question for you... As a doctor it is your job to preserve life.
What are your views on helping somebody beyond help and with no quality of life to die if thats what they wanted?
You know hoppy, I've asked myself this question many times, and here's what I think...
Ethically, I don't think that I have the right to help an end stage patient with no quality of life to die just because the patients want to! I believe that this is all in God's hand, I don't have the right to decide if he/ she can can die, neither can the patient.. and I believe in miracles, you never know what might happen, I don't know what is best, no one knows, and I can't claim to know what is best for the patient, because no matter how much I study, it's still nothing, and my job is to keep the patient alive, until his/her time comes then I'll let go and pray for the best..
So do I get the job now?:D
Bimzoori 11-01-03, 07:48 PM Dr N.. not only are you talkative in real-life, but in sabla as well  :D
girl........ give you're mouth a break :gap: :gap: :gap: or in this case.. your poor fingers.. :gap:
how's your handwriting? I hear that all-Doctor's handwriting gets worse as they proceed thru their career :D
hey bimmi, nice to see you back!!
7araaam, me talkative, look who's talking!:D
he he, yeah guys it's true, i can be a chatter box, and i usually drive poor bimmi crazy;)
well you know my handwriting dear, so you be the judge! it's not exellent like our friend, but it's not bad either, kinda like yours actually!:p
DeSerTDesTroYeR 12-01-03, 11:48 AM Dr N....actually.....that was my 2nd plan....but initially i was wondering of your IT interest,,,,, nothing more..
i run...far..now.....far away....:D
grasshopper 12-01-03, 03:46 PM Thanks Doc. More to come though im afraid.
What is your opinion of Genetic Cloning?
No problem hoppy, you can ask as much as you like, I never get tired!:D
Genetic cloning is a great step in science, that gave us the ability to solve many of the problems in medicine,e.g is the insulin....
But I believe that there is a limit to everything, so I'm not really a big fond of the human cloning thing that is being experimented nowadays, there's got to be some place where we have to put a fullstop, you know, when it comes to ethics, science is great, but that doesn't mean that we forget all the values and ideals just for of going forwards, there are other alternatives, and we should keep our ideas and beliefs above everything..
I know I might sound a bit out of this world, but that's just the way I see things, and that's how I intend to continue to be even when I start working.:D
What else grassy?:)
Navy_boy 13-01-03, 11:24 PM hiii
i really enjoyed reading yr interview & i knew lots about u ..
it is just a small question ?? do u really want to be a doctor ??for real ??
grasshopper 14-01-03, 01:49 AM I agree with you Doc. There has to be a limit. However how do you feel about the cloning of vital organs. Imagine the lives that would be saved if those organs were available rather than huge waiting lists for a Kidney or Heart say.
Ok here I am grassy, just as I promised...
Concerning genetic cloning of vital organs, it seems like a good idea, I mean why not? It's going to do good to people then yes I agree on it, and it's true, it can help save the lives of many people who wait everyday for a matching donor..:)
Navy, nice to see you here, and I'm glad that you're enjoying my interview. About your question, yes I wanna be a doctor, for real! And that's what I'm doing at the moment, just give me a few years to graduate, why? you wanna take an appointment from now?:D
Dr Noon,
If you're in favour of genetic cloning of organs, do you agree with the idea of xenotransplants? (e.g. growing a human liver in a pig then transplanting it.)
'mim'
Arabian Princess 15-01-03, 10:34 AM Excellent Interview Dr. You are one of teh peole I admire .. you love what you are doing and this is the best!!
Grassy ask Dr N those Qs. it is really intresting to read :)
Thanks arby, you really made my day!:) And hey, you know how much I like you too...
mim, regarding your question, I haven't got much info about xenotransplants, I mean, when it comes to religion, but I'm looking for an answer and I'll get back to you.:)
Dr N did you discover anything new in the field of medicen ?
iceT, you want me to discover something in medicine! loolz, well not yet bro, maybe never, but if I ever do, i'll remember to send you a card to my party!:D
Navy_boy 19-01-03, 03:34 AM that's what I'm doing at the moment, just give me a few years to graduate, why? you wanna take an appointment from now?
good luck in yr study ,..... but be careful coz those ppl who study to be doctors ,,they start to throw stones & wear glasses after spending 2-3 yrs studying :D :D
any way wish u all the best ,,
no body knows I might be yr patient one day
Navy, thanks, but hey what's with the stones?!!:D And yeah, I hope that I don't end up wearing glasses!
Who knows you might be my patient! so now you're giving me permission to do my experiments on you, eh?:D
DeSerTDesTroYeR 19-01-03, 03:54 PM aha....i cant leave for long :D .......back with some questions....
taking about experiments.. ...have you started any on any ??.. i mean ..there is a who subject hmm not sure whats it called..but its when medical students study the human body?..did u do that yet?..
if yes...how was it...what did you feel??....are you ok with it or not yet....
if not.....then i'll start some other group of questions..:p
DeDe, it's called human anatomy, and yes I've started this last semester, and yes it was a very difficult experience, because you have to deal with dead bodies during the labs, which was very very difficult for me, esp. in the beginning. I found it wrong to mess up with someone's body, and it took me a long time to get used to the environment, everyone thought that I was acting silly, non of my friends had any problems dealing with them, I was the only one, as far as I know!
Now, I still find it a bit uneasy to work with them, but I get along, and I"m doing fine, in fact, I'll start the new semester next week, and I'll be working with them again..
grasshopper 21-01-03, 06:48 PM Doc..
I can appreciate your unease at working with dead bodies. I have to do it everyday at work. Well ok these guys are supposed to be alive but im not sure at times im sure there is at least one bloke that hasnt moved at his desk for days now!! :eyes:
Have you always wanted to be a Doctor?
Do you intend to practice medicine in Oman or do you want to work abroad?
If abroad where would you most like to work and why?
Do you play a musical intrument atall. if not what what would you most like to be able to play and what song would you most love to play on it?
If you could go back in time to any point in history where what era or event would you most like to go back to to see?
Navy_boy 22-01-03, 10:16 PM Originally posted by Dr N
Navy, thanks, but hey what's with the stones?!!:D And yeah, I hope that I don't end up wearing glasses!
Who knows you might be my patient! so now you're giving me permission to do my experiments on you, eh?:D
ok,,then I will notify u when i become :gap: crazy.... so u might be able to treat me ,,, ::p:
ThE GaMe 27-01-03, 05:08 AM Dr N whats about man bone ?
Sorry grassy, I was supposed to reply to this a long time ago, but I was spending some time away from the sabla, but now I'm back!
So I understand from your reply that you're the bog boss where you work, right??!
Have you always wanted to be a Doctor?
Yes! I always knew what I wanted to do. There were times when I thought of other things, like being a teacher, or starting my own show on tv, and once I really wanted to be the coming Martina Hingis! lolz
Do you intend to practice medicine in Oman or do you want to work abroad?
Well, I'm planning on leaving the country after I graduate and do my residency abroad to get more experience, but then come back and work here, because I can't stay away from my family, I'm so attached to them!
If abroad where would you most like to work and why?
England! It's not that far, and I've got a lot of friends there, so it's good to go somewhere where you can find someone you know..
Do you play a musical intrument atall. if not what what would you most like to be able to play and what song would you most love to play on it?
No, but I love the guitar and would love to play it one day, and if I do that, then it doesn't really matter what I play, though I'd really wanna be able to play one of the many love songs that depend on the guitar, I find it very relaxing.
If you could go back in time to any point in history where what era or event would you most like to go back to to see?
I don't wanna go back in time! And you know grassy, I kept on thinking about this question for some time, to think of where I would go if I had the chance to go back in time, but I couldn't find anything, I'd prefer going to the future instead!:)
What else hoppy?
The game,
I'm sorry but I didn't get your point!
grasshopper 31-01-03, 01:21 PM Hey there Doc. glad to see you back.. we have missed your presence around here.
Thanks for the answers. Intelligent and honest as ever i see. :D
Well Doc give me a shout when you move to England and i would be more than happy to teach you to play guitar.
Right then. you say you would want to go into the future.
What future development would you like to be able to go forward to see or experience..
Well hoppy I'll definitly make sure that I shout as loud as I can once I get there!;) But I'm probably going to London anyway this summer!
Ok now to answer your question...
I want to be able to go and see the year 3000 for some reason, see how different it would be from our time, and see how people decide to celebrate it....
Maybe they'll have flying cars, and I would really wanna know all the latest advances in medicine!
Ohhh and yeah, I would also wanna meet my great great great great great great grandchildren, if I ever get marrried!:D
grasshopper 04-02-03, 12:58 PM The year 3000 huh Doc?
Ok what 5 things would you most like to see developed/invented by the year 3000.
As for getting married im confident you will have a thousand proposals. Not even you can say no to them all. SURELY???:p
5 things that I would like to see?!! Ahhh that's a difficult one...
Ok, cars! Maybe by that time there will be flying cars!
New improvements in medicine, like finding cures for some of the diseases...
ummm, maybe have a life somehow like the Jetsons!
See how genetic cloning would continue improving!
There are many many things that we go through during our studies that seem to puzzle us, to which scientists have not yet been able to discover the reasons, so maybe one day we'll be able to get some answers, you don't want me posting them hoppy, that would be too boring for the other members!:D
But I can give you an example. Asthma is a common disease, but there are many question marks still rotating around this topic, despite the fact that it is one of the most common allergic reactions!
grasshopper 10-02-03, 06:27 PM Flying cars now they would be fun eh doc.
Hopefully in the near future medical science will find cures for the likes of cancer, one that we seem to know very little about or how to cure.
I have a moral question for you Doc
Totally imaginary situation ok.
You are working in The Emergency Room. two patients come in.
Patient 1 you learn is a gun shot victim
Patient 2 the person who shot patient 1 also a gunshot wound. you also hear that this is a person the police to be a known killer.
Patient 2s wounds are worse than patient one.
Which patient would recieve most of your medical attention. would you be purely professional and treat the worse wounds with priority or take pity on the victim.
lool hoppy, you've been watching er a lot haven't you! I do remember an episode where the british doc had to take care of a patient who had murdered a lot of innocent women, in fact I have it recorded!
Ok now seriously, regarding your question...
Well I won't lie and say yes I won't have any emotions towards the case, BUT as a doctor it would be my duty to take care of the most severe case, which is the second patient in this case, esp. if he has a life threatening condition. Now you might think that I'm just saying this to impress others or whatever, but I'm really being honest with myself here! I'll probably show more emotional attention to the victim, but when it comes to medical attention they would be equal! Or even, I might have to spend more time with patient 2 if needed. That's what medicine is all about, caring about patients no matter what backgrounds they have, it's not my job to be judge and jurry, but it's my job to make sure that they stay alive!
So what do you think hoppy?:)
grasshopper 10-02-03, 11:22 PM Thanks Doc. yes i do like ER but not seen it for a while now. must try to get some of them on video.. I cant remember that episode though i must admit.
I totally agree with you Doc and i thought that is how you would respond. Your job would be to save lives not as you said to play judge and jury. That said to find yourself in that situation must be a difficult one dont you think?
Yes hoppy, it would be a very difficult situation, but then again, if not this then there would be many many others that require such actions, where morals come first...
Well that episode of ER was in season 5, called "How the Finch stole christmas"!:)
grasshopper 11-02-03, 04:13 PM Wow you really are a fan arnt you.. Ill have to look out for that episode. Sounds good.
grasshopper 18-02-03, 12:51 AM Doc i have another question for you
Your signature says.. "life is unfair, get used to it"
do you really think life is unfair if so can you explain what your reasons and feelings are for that.
Now this is a tough one!
Well to be honest with you, I think that life is full of surprises, you never know what is there for you! But one thing I'm sure of is that everything happens for a reason, maybe we might think of it as unfair in the beginning but the trick is to have faith and never lose hope that something better might be waiting for you!
I believe that life is a test, and only that person who solves the mystery and finds the key, is the one who can get on with life. And the key is to understand that this is the way life is, there are many chances and many experiences that you have to go through, not everyday is a happy day, many things happen and we need to keep optimistic and deal with everything!
:)

Dr N - You're charming, witty, and sociable, but you insist on maintaining control of your own life. You have a gentle demeanor and your presence is soothing to others (especially your voice). However, your Capricorn moon makes you ambitious, determined, and sensitive to social status. Your delightful Libra demeanor may hide a bit of social snob underneath, especially as you become older and established in society. You are likely conservative and traditional in your thinking.
You are honest, responsible, and idealistic, and demand the same of others. You are compassionate and sympathetic and practical in the way you help people. You'd rather fix someone's problems than "just" be a shoulder to cry on.
You probably have a beautiful, tastefully decorated home (to the best your budget will allow), and good taste in cooking and personal appearance.
You will likely have giant obstacles to overcome in your life, but you will definitely do it. You have plenty of determination to succeed, but may have difficulty in gaining recognition for your successes. In fact, you may make the most impact on the world by working "behind the scenes". You have a patient ambition and aren't afraid of the hard work it will take.
Your strength will allow you to shoulder all the responsibilities in marriage, but you won't think much of a man who would allow you to do so. Unfortunately, you may tend to view a new relationship too idealistically and not see his flaws until it is too late - and the disillusionment will hurt.
You are exact, logical, and scientific in your thinking, with strong mathematical and scientific ability. You plan carefully and work hard. You probably have good powers of visualization and like to experiment with machinery or electronics. You may have dreams of using your scientific knowledge to find innovative ways of using technology to help people. You'll probably keep your ideas secret until you can produce a perfect finished product, though!
You occassionally have the impulse to rebel and make a drastic change. You crave excitement, but not at the cost of your ambitions.
You may be subject to a tendency to be very critical of yourself, leading worry and depression. When depressed you may find it very hard to think beyond your emotions, and fritter away your time in nervous talk. this only serves to deepen your self-critical tendencies. Try to look beyond the past and greet each new day with optimism.
