We know that our blood protien which carries the oxygen is called haemoglobin.. and we know it contains an important metal which is iron (Fe).. and our blood is pink-red in colour…
But have u asked ur self one day , do all creatures have red or pink blood is there other colours… I asked my self this question aftre I notice that all Aliens (in movies :gap: ) have green blood ??????????????

well Fahad that thought did cross my mind...and i came to the conclusion that there is only one color of blood which is the one we have ...

I doubt that there are different colors of blood but anything is possible nowadays!! :duh:

Some animals use copper to carry oxygen - molluscs I think and some of the insects? It makes their blood green. Yikes that was a college class almost 20 years ago :eyes:

The oxygen-carrying capacity of the various respiratory pigments varies with oxygen concentration, temperature, pH and carbon dioxide concentration. It also depends on the nature of the protein part of the pigment as well as the metallic component, and this differs from species to species….
the iron-containing pigments found in blood include haemoglobins (red in blood), myoglobins (red in muscle), .. other one contain copper instead of iron and they are not foud in human like chlorocruorins (green found in worms) and haemerythrins (violet). Haemocyanin (blue) ,… also other piment made of other metal like vanadium ( yellow-green) like in sea cucumbers ( Holothuroidea = family name) but this vanadium pigment function is not known but some think it is to discourage predators..
nd remember that some organisms have no oxygen-carrying respiratory pigments, some have one type, others more…

When you smash them they release white stuff. I remember in school days biology that the colour of their blood is white.

about insect,, i know from my old biuology that some inscets does not have circulatory system( no blood).. but they carry food and oxygen by interstitial fluid ( between cell) and this is clear or whie depend on the insect...
insect are from diffrent kingdom
