"Today Was a Fairytale" debuted at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of February 6, 2010. The debut was a career best for Swift, beating "Fearless" which debuted at number 9. However, the song plumetted to #22 in its second week on the Hot 100 due to a dramatic drop in downloads. It also debuted at #52 on U.S. Hot Country Songs the same week based on unsolicited airplay. The song sold 325,000 downloads, breaking the record for best first-week download sales by a female artist previously held by the Britney Spears track "Womanizer" which sold 286,000 in its first week. [5] It is Swift's sixth Top 10 single on the Hot 100 and her 23rd top forty single.

What makes me love her even more that she writes her own lyrics & sings them.. An angelic voice and one helluva lovely song .. My advice; don't miss out.

I think that's because people around dont appreciate 'Country' music a lot. Its rare to find people listening to such type of songs.

As for me, I loved this song from the 1st listen.. Been playing it for quiet a while now. Its lovely.

I told you.. There are lots of people out there who don't appreciate 'Country' music & your post just proved me right.

The song is unusual, but the doesn't mean it sucks. I can actually can see the fuss this song is making ;). This artist writes her own lyrics & sing them beautifully.

You can't be serious! Did you just categorize her with Miley Cyrus & Justin Bieber? Ugh! Her music is way way different than them and it was proved in her latest outstanding album "Fearless" !!

Besides, this song is gonna be played at the movie "Valentine's day", which is obviously for 'adults'.
