Most internet users download music, software, etc using different programs... i would like to conduct a survey and ask the members of the sabla which program do they use to download their files

take your pick and plz mention why you think the software you chose is the best, pros and cons...

as for me, i go with Kazaa for multimedia files, since it downloads most file formats... in the same time i prefer audio galaxy for music, since it is web based and the search result is well organized in categories

Fahad and Boy Intrrupted, do these download programs have a big collection of music?

Kazaa Lite is better than the normal one, coz it wouldn't have those annoying adverts

yup!! probably even more than kazaa!! the search results are amazing, and you can find all the latest, and even the classics! plus, the quality of the mp3's are much better than kazaa, kazaa is (128 kbps), winMx (196 Kbps), so there you have it!

To quote form a FAQ:

"YOU'RE TOO LATE. If you just came to the Audiogalaxy party -- sorry, it's over. To settle the lawsuit that the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) brought against AG, AG
agreed to begin "opt-in" blocking, which means that *all* files are blocked until the copyright holder of each file agrees to let it be shared. Blocking began on June 16 or 17. Almost no files
are now available on AG, although the system still works as before. You can read more about the RIAA-AG agreement at http://news.com.com/2100-1023-936932.html. "

Sniff...

well , I don't listen to music for religious reasons , so I only download softwares .

I used to use Gozilla , and it was good , but then shifted to realdowload .

:) it allows me to have multiple downloads , and is is somehow more organized that gozilla . :)

:( its interface is not nice , and since I haven't registred , i get a pop-up ad as soon as i start a new download , but that's no problem for me . :(

*Bump* i think this is a great topic, so am pushing it back up!

anyways..i still say that winmx is the best.

to download winmx go to : www.winmx.com

it's has most if not all of kazza's features (you can download mp3's, music videos , software, and pictures) , plus there are chatting channels that work exactly like MIRC. you should check it out.

Boy-I do you have the choice to download from mulipule users??? if so, whats the avg speed you get?

yup..you can download from mulitiple users, and the spead varies depending on the connection the user(s) you're downloading from has!! i always choose the ones with DSL , Cable or T1. those seem to be the fastest. usually it's 3.8 kbps or higher, which means 15 or less mins in oman for a song that is 4 mb in size! (that's if you have a dial up connection)!

i find it faster than kazza , and the quality is much better, cause here you get the option to download the 192kbps mp3's (almost as CD quality)!

I am a WinMX user and I think that it is one of the best peer2peer downloaders ever! ;)
- It is very compact in size - Less than 1 MB
- It has a very clean simple interface - No ADs or anything fancy
- It supports resuming the download
- Multiple sources of downloads
- You can download Audio, Video, and images also.
- Another cool thing is that you have the _incomplete files that you could take and resume from another place! This means that if you have a very large file to download and you have to change the pc or something like that you can take the incompelete file on a CD and put it on another computer where you can continue the download
- It is VERY fast, if you use broad band you can go up to 50 and even 70 KBPS.

Thanks to this thread, I finally find a good link where I can finally download some good music...Kazaa will be my first look...I have a CD writer and never used it.

Hoping the downloading doesn't take ages!
