These days many feel that listening to Arabic songs is not cool! and English is! :dev:
lol i find it stupid! Coz there is nothing wrong with listening to Arabic music :)
And ofcourse not everyone thinks that that way!
Did you ever feel like that before or do you now?
Do you know anyone who does? if yes then how was your reaction to it?
Discuss
It has nothing to do with being 'cool' for me, I don't listen to Arabic simply because I honestly can't relate to it, whether it's the message they're trying to convey or the instrumentation they use which never really appealed to me, I can't relate to the culture behind it because I wasn't raised or brought up in a way that made me feel like I belonged to this culture or even the mentality of the region. I love English music because there's a wide variety of genres and instrumentation that are used, not to forget the many talented voices and performances, so to me it's all about relating to it.

Nope! Why wouldn't it be cool :os, some of my best friends listen to arabic music and they are cool as hell ;)

To think in that way is so pathetic lol, no one gets to decide what's cool and what's not specially when it comes to music in my opinion, it's a personal preference, what appeals to us might not appeal to other people :D so those people need to grow up! And stop being wanna-bes and start being themselves, I don't think arabic music is bad and if I started listening to alot of it I might like it and it might grow on me but so far I haven't bothered with it yet

Yah I do :p, I know those people exist .. They are usually wanabe's who play Massari/backstreet songs in their car while opening the windows and cruising around as if they're the coolest thing ever.. Haha losers!! Plus I know people who are anything but low class who listen to arabic only.. So we can't judge at all :D .. Also have an Omani friend who only listens to japanese lol, my point is I'd never relate some ones personal preference in music to their cool'o meter or their class or their personality, it's laaame!

I was raised listening to Arabic music, and hellsyeah I felt like I was on top of the world! But then I grew sick of it, the melody and the lyrics, not to forget the drum-beat that is duplicated into every Arabic song in the world. No, it's not cool.
I love English music, 'nuff said.
lool :P i lisen to arabic songs nowadays much more then English songs and i don't find it stupid :P

I listen to anything that's artistic and beautiful. And I think that's something everybody should try. Whether it's Arabic, English, Spanish, Japanese...If it's beautiful in musical structure or meaning; it's something I wouldn't mind listening to :D

Arabic and some English Lyrical theme is way too shallow for my ears to handle it.

People differs on the taste. In my family, we all raised with English songs... Lol - so the Arabic songs are tasteless and not understandable for us...:os

I appreciate Arabic music more when I'm not around Arabs, but I've always listened to Arabic songs and will always do. It's who I am after all.
Did you ever feel like that before or do you now?
I don't feel like that unless you're listing to the Arabic music that I consider 8o7 (old fashion) no offence.
Do you know anyone who does? if yes then how was your reaction to it?
Yeah I know few, but I excuse them since they grow up speaking in English and the Arabic songs beats sounds the same to them.
I consider some Arabic music not cool, but some I love, but I think it goes the same for English usic or any kinda music too... :)

Music has no language, I can like a song whatever is the language, plus to me its the music more than the lyrics.

People who listen to Arabic only say those that listen to English are uncool and vice versa. That's lame lol
Like Nabhan said music has nothing to do with 'being cool'. Basically, it's only a matter of what each person prefers or can relate to or grew up listening to.
