Boss,

i tel u it is raining down here in al ain buraimi, pithc dark, no sun no honey. Wel come everybody to enjoy the rain shower.

Make IT = the horse

to drink=that water

in details:-

if that horse did not want to drink THAT water, ok you do not have to FORCE it to drink but MAKE IT to drink

that is:-

jump on it bit it make it run in realy tuff way, no mercy
till, ( dear me ) it bends to you orders...

Leave, it alone you will find that horse running dircet to that pool which once you:-

'Can lead a horse to the pool
But can not force it to drink'.

so that is why i said reply"-

You dont have to force it to drink
but MAKE IT to drink.

Wel! that was my idea how to make it to drink but may be you mihgt have the worst one.

cheers

I think by you saying that you would rather "make the horse drink" is that you are implying forcing the horse to drink, or that you would rather make it drink on its own choice?

I think if you want the right idea behind this saying it is to actually perent the 'water' to the 'horse' and see if it would want to drink or join you...makeing the choice totally ther own and not dwelling on the results. If they choose to be with you or not, if they choose to accept what you are presenting or not.

i might be thick or something...but what's the point here..i mean..you canot force anyone to do anything they
don't believe in..otherwise,they won't make a good effort in it...what you said about "making it" you mean forcing someone to do something ,but indirectly,yeah!?...I still can't get your point salim...

I know, how come they never taught us philosophy in school?

ok,,,i have my theory:

u c....u can force somethings and u can't force others....but then the methodology differs....lets get more political here....

for example, our western friends. They are playing very dangerous psychological games in our preserved arab communities. Here's the a comical scenario:

white man:"aih...arab boy.....gimme some petrol"
arab boy: roo7 roo7 il3ab ma3al 9'3ayreen!!!
so they said "hey arab friend, i help u get petrol from ground"
so we said O.K.

we think we won...but no...we were forced to lose actually !
ofcourse, Mr.white man goes with his bag loaded. ( but hey, we had no choice)

Now...a bit more challanging example.....
we keep saying we are traditionalists and take pride in being who we are,,,for example omanis. But are we?
nop....all our products...even ou dishdashaas (which r supposedly OMANI) are from abroad...ok...i'm losing the point

so...if they can play the game of master & the horse...why can't we do that too...like King faisal of Saudi Arabia once did? did i mention the word "petrol" ????

yallah, Massakum Allah bil '7air.
