some people believe that it is easy to be a real muslim and some believe that we r so .... we come here to educate each other more about our islam but let me ask a small tinny Q? do u know that songs r forbidden in islam , if u do so, can i ask u whether u r listening to them or not ?? this only a tinny exapmle how much is the gap between our knowledge and our practice of islam ?? if this is how we are then i don't think that we r muslims cos ALLAH always associated beliefs with practice and never considered each one of them alone a reality ...

Well I wont enter into the song debate but I will answer your question about being a real muslim.

I beleive it is easy to be real muslim if you beleive that what Allah orders you is the right for you and for all human species.
There are basis of Islam when you do them you are a muslim. These basis are beleiving that there is no god but ALLAH and that prophet MOhammed is indeed a prophet of ALLAH, praying, fasting Ramdhan, paying Zakat, not drinking, and all the basic teachings of Islam that are laid out clearly in Quran.

Ofcourse by doing that you would have to believe on all the spirtual part of Islam. The concept of Hasnah and thanb (good deeds and bad deeds), the beleife that nothing will happen but ALLAH's will and so on which makes you a muslim who is strongly believing in Allah.

Then will come parts which are in debated between scholats (and sects) these debates could not be judged simply (otherwise scholars wont spend time studying them). Here where you would have to depend on your common sense to judge on what is right for you as a human and what is wrong. I know you would say that not everything runs by logic but I beleive Islam is all about Logic. Maybe the logic wont be explicit to us (and this is when Allah all mighty would lay teh down the clear rukes, but when the rules are not clear, it mean we are encourged to use our mind and senses to explore the Quran, SUnnah and other writing to find our way.
Allah did not keep everything simple because he want us human beings to learn and explore.

my friend, i don't think that islam always follows logic in each tinyy thing ... it foloows another logic which says that u have to believe that ALLAh is wise and he is asking us for our own good, however, it is not always logic , for example, in most sects it is not acceptable to divorce the wife with any word or sign other than the word "TALIQ" and it has to be in arabic ??
u might say this is a difference in sects, then why u should pray for 5 times and not 6 in a day?? why a particular pray is in that way and not in other way ?? these r Qs with no answers simply because it want to see how much can u obey and follow the islamic rules without alo0o0t of discussion .. it is simply cos u believe ALLAH is wise and he asked us to do so then it is wise for us to do so ... see, this is other logic ..

however, i am asking about songs, do u listen to songs, and do u think that they r right or forbidden??!!

I did mention in my above post that sometimes allah ask us to do something but the logic out of it is not known to us human. We are asked to look around it and try to understand why, sometimes we do sometimes we dont but the most important thing is we obey what Allah asks us to do.

This topic is about how to become a real muslim. I beleive to become a real muslim starts by obying the basic principles of Islam and beleiving in what ALLAH has asked us to do. This will make you a muslim on the way to become a real muslim.
