Well my Question is about the American companies that had Lost many money and it did shaked the American Economy..

my questions are: how big the effectness..And how america will get affected...And what about dollars and Rials?!

am so0ory... I meant about those Big companies like Xerox and like those..that Lost bilions in those few days...I guess they were two or three big big economic companies in the
States Even Bush Is Mad about it..

How long will the slowdown last?

The truth is that no one knows.

The corporate sector, although a smaller part of the economy, tends to make more rapid adjustments.

It started to cut back capital spending rapidly at the end of 2000, but has also cut back its production and shed jobs.

If the consumer sector - which makes up two-thirds of the economy - also starts to decline, then the US could be headed for a recession.

The US government hopes that the combination of interest rate cuts and a modest tax cut which is being distributed to all taxpayers this summer will help the economy to recover, and keep consumers spending.

It predicts growth next year of over 3%, double the rate expected in 2001.

But a prolonged slowdown could affect growth throughout the rest of the world - already Asian exporters to the US are suffering badly.

I think the US economy (perhaps more appropriately the stock market) was ready for a correction. The bubble burst early with Sept. 11, and everyone is flailing about. Then, boom, immoral/illegal business/accounting practices are uncovered, investors get hurt and and everybody gets worried.

The economy will start picking up again. Time for all to start accurate business performance reporting and realistic earnings expectations.

I think the American economy is going worse and worse... I am not an expart in such things, but because I live there, I founded that many companies and organizations started to increase their prices, fees, etc. For example, most of the universities tution has been raised and the most sad news for me is the bus company has also raised it's fairs :( .
Many companies has declared there banckraptect and the stock market is in it's worse possition since 20 years.

Since we are talking about the american economy, can any of our american members give us statistics or a genral overview of what happned after Sept11 or even after this corruption case that hapned recently??

I read that Prisedent Buch has stated that the American Economy is improving and going steady, but I dont know if it a political statment or a true one!

I read today about this new thing called snakehead fish! which was found in around 7 states!!!!!!! California,massachusetts,Florida,Hawaii and and and!!
those fishes snakeheads tends to eat small fishes and some small mumals and they can live out of water for around three days:eyes: :duh: :eyes: and not that bus, no they can also switch to live in lakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
those kind of fishes were found in Asia like chin and viatnam! now they are wondering how did it reach the states!

I'm not a bussiness xpert..but from what I've been reading in papers..there are far far less Arabs going to the UK and US for tourism since 9/11..so, I believe this is cosidered a big loss for the two countries..

ive read about this too,and the most was from Saudi arabia! and that this summer they cancled many many flights!!
i mean they all switched for their vacation!
and by the way did u hear about that BaskinRobins thinggyy! they say that u can eat a free ice cream every Tuesday :P i think u know why! awena theve lost since 9/11 and so know they wanna change from Americans product To Canadian ones!!!!

Because its related in this thread cause am talking about What American suffurs nowadays in econmic!
When those kind of fishes goes and eats another kind well not eat exactly but destroyes ever speach in their seas and goes to some lakes to0 and eat and destroy everything that will surly efect USA! the fisheries there! the number of fish! then the fish will be down then they will be less fishes then then then then!

MoonChild have done what we can to boost the US economy.

In the last month we bought a new car, $2000 worth of baby stuff - crib, stroller, clothes, rockers, etc., new cookware, 2 cell phones, stocked up our pantry, I bought Summer and Fall clothes, 2 skateboards and spare bearings, and we plan on staying in a luxury birthing center for 3 days when we have Bean ( an out-of-pocket expense).

I have asked all remaining US citizens to spend likewise.

Incidentally, few months back Bush announced that he or perhaps they "are going to fight the terrorists and dry them off their wealth" he concluded his statement by saying "they", the, "terrorists have got plenty of money". I wonder to whom he was referring his statement.

Now they come up with a demand for 'trillions' How many ZEROS are there in a trillion trillion please enlighten me. I am not expert on figures i only know up to a 1000.

The american economy is teh best? Its so strong that Sep 11 hardly effected it. It was headed for a downtrend anyway with or without sep 11 but it will be back up. Its not like people coming out of university can not find jobs or people leaving high skool cant afford to goto college.
even with all the stealinjg going on the economy is still strong and standing. Unlike oru puny little place. One man steals 60 million from CBO and thats it. Its all over. Pfft pathetic

It is not only the economy of the United States of America that is struggling. Come on people, there is a WORLDWIDE economy crisis. It's a domino effect. Investors are scared for so many reasons. Probably they are hiding their money under their beds. The Stock Markets are very volatile every minute of the day. As far as to the USA economy, the Sept 11 attack did make a major impact and like I said, it became a DOMINO effect. But the government is doing its best to win back the confidence of foreign investors, but it takes time. The problem is big and it cannot be solved over night.

Interesting thread. Wonder if anyone can give us any info about the economy of the US right now? The Fed continues to increase interest rates, and the budget deficit continues to grow. Thats about all I know (which is absolutely shameful).
