DorellaM 26-06-02, 02:10 AM What do you guys think about the sites that allow you to download music for free? I think its great, cause I havent paid for music in a long time. But how about the artists?? Is it fair to them. They use to use record sales as a measurement of who was the "Top Dog", but now.....can they really go by this method. Not really....Holla if ya hear me.
well. i think that people should support their fave artists!! i mean..if you like this artis, like his music, then why not support him/her by buying his/her record!! well..that's what i do! and anyways,,i'm sort of a cd collector and don;t really like pirated cd;s. i only download if i can't find the song in the shops or if i like one song out of a whole album from an artist i don't really like! ;)
DorellaM 26-06-02, 02:31 AM True, if you really do like the artist, then you should support them. But the temptation of free music over a super fast connection is overwhelming for a music freak..:p
anyways,,,the R.I.I.A are doing everything they can to stop downloading music . first napster , now audiogalaxy!! who knows,,, maybe kazaa is next!! :(
DorellaM 26-06-02, 03:04 AM But for how long can they keep it down.....every time they shut one down, another arises. There's pretty much no way shut them down in the end right? My friend can download a song in 30 seconds.....and a music video in just a few minutes....and thats another thing. Alot of my friends have been downloading movies too....
Yeah.. i agree with Boy-I;)
Thug4Life 26-06-02, 02:07 PM :) well...they have to find other ways rather than just Block and Block :) Cause they cant keep doing that 4 ever!
the thing is when they shut these search engines, people start getting tiered, and in the end they're gonna get fed up of all this and go out to buy the cd!! and if you all noticed , the riia only shut down the P2P (people to people) search engines cause those are the best ones which people can find even the rarest songs from them, the other ones which are hosted on a server rather than peoples computers are usually overlooked cause they only host the newest releases!!
4-ever-young 26-06-02, 07:02 PM i personally havent used any of these sites...but i guess i will start before they are all shut...so what is the best one to use?
DorellaM 26-06-02, 09:18 PM LOL.....
Well here are just a couple I know of:
Kazaa (http://www.kazaa.com)
MP3 (http://www.mp3.com)
I think you have to pay for the MP3 songs which then makes it legit??? Is that true?? Im not sure, maybe someone else knows of some more sites. I use Kazaa cause its free.
dunno many,,,used to use audio galaxy before they shut it down :fire: !!! it was the best!! now , i'm just gonna have to buy the kylie single "love at first sight" coz i can't seem to find the cool remix "Can't get blue monday out of my head"!! bloody hell!!!
oh yeah..this is a cool site : www.themusiclovers.com
it has all the latest chart hits!!
DorellaM 26-06-02, 09:43 PM If you absolutley have to be legit, and your good conscience wont allow you to illegally download music for free:D

Internet sites which allow you to take copyrighted material for free are an international issue. What about the fake CDs, videos etc that are on sale in Oman? How many of you have registered software on your PCs?!
DorellaM 30-06-02, 11:12 AM LOL....
The only registered software on my computer is what came with the computer when I first bought it.....
Dore,
I bet that's not even registered if you bought it in Oman....all these shops lie through their teeth! I bought two PC's for my employer a couple of months ago. Every shop assumed I wanted unlicensed operating systems etc....when I asked for the licence numbers, they said is wasn't necessary, they were 'allowed' (even the well-known shops). None of them even had an original copy of Windows or Office in the shop...they had to order in from the wholesaler - and he didn't have some of it either, had to come from Dubai!
