You know, this video made me search for more artists..I noticed most of them are black. I bet they don't know that most muslims (or let's say arabs) are racist :p

^ What makes you think so? Any examples?

Oblivious

Oh ya, besides the whole tribe issues some countries have, I doubt any Arab parent would let his son/daughter marry a black person. I've seen many fights over it, I argue with my parents about it all the time.

Arabs/Muslims are against racism in general, but not when it comes to marriage. *Let's not mention all the 'amazing' names they have for black people*

Caribbean Dream

^ That's a traditional and cultural thing. It does not mean that they are racists. If some families mind it, then, it's up to them. I do not think there are many "white" arab girls who want to marry "black" boys. There are might be exceptions but these are very rare anyway.

Oblivious

^ Cultural, sure, but Islam is against racism...and we follow religion before culture, right?

Anyways, I think we're off-topic...I remember I started a topic about this a long time ago.

So ya, again..adorable Loon.

Well, your remark was a bit provocative and inaccurate. You just charged groundless accusations against millions of people which is not a wise thing to do.

Islam is against racism, that is true. When a family turns down a black suitor's offer that does not mean they are being racist. They could have other considerations for the rejection. It's the same case when a family would turn down a man of a different tribe, sect, nationality, or non-family member, etc. There is no oppression or persecution or any sort of individual's rights' violation about it.

Get another good reason if you want to accuse a particular group of people of being racist so that you believe you lol

^ I said 'most'. But then again, this guy, Loon, left his culture and lifestyle for Islam...he didn't say that it's my culture and it's not wrong. We did not leave these social issues we have...and whether you agree or not, not letting your kid marry a black person IS racism...and I don't know what's your definition of racism, but the way I know it...rejecting someone because he is black - whether he is a good person or not - and because you don't want your grandkids to be dark IS racism.

I know MANY families who wouldn't allow this *and these are only the ones I got to know about*

Caribbean Dream

^ I did not say you said all anyway, did I? Most means more than half of all muslims which equals to millions =p

Alright:

How many black arabs proposed to whites and got rejected?
How many white Arab girls wanted to marry blacks but they were deprived this right by their families?

^ Which part of "many I know" did you miss? oh you want me to count them? *goes to count...*

And I get that you're saying that the people I'm talking about are a "small part"? But then again, I was talking about racism and how you said it wasn't that but it is a cultrual issue only.

Caribbean Dream

Yes, go count them so that you make of your groundless accusations well-founded facts.
The example you have presented does not generalise and it does not prove anything.

Nice beard, mashaAllah.

Rude of the commentator to make him listen to his own music and then ask him to rap and keep playing it while he was talking. Happy he realized Islam was the right choice and left his past lifestyle. Alhmdulillah.

As far as racist trust me some Muslims are (so people quit painting a picture that they are not). I faced it myself on here and in my personal life when it comes to Arab Muslims just like Arab Muslisms faced racism from White Christians. Racism is everywhere irregardless of religion or ethnic grouping.

Oblivious, marriage is different... Like Caribbean Dream said it's a traditional not religious issue and I find it very wrong to top traditions over religion but what can you do?... We do treat all races the same, and he did not convert to Arab he converted to Islam, we all know how Islam treats everyone equally.

I don't believe Busta Rhymes converted, he recently made a video clip that I find humiliating for Muslims.

Loon looks great, happy and peaceful. I like the song "I need a girl".

The commentator didn't mean to offend in some sort. And don't see why "Loon" refused to rap, it's not like it's haram or something (Unless it talks about women and their curves; which is most likely not going to happen)

Brother Amir Junaid Muhadith (Loon) is rapper formerly part of P. Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, where he released his self-titled debut album, Loon. He has also made many guest appearances on songs of the R&B and hip hop genres.

In 2004, Loon left Bad Boy to start his own label, Boss Up Entertainment. Loon started his music career as a member of Mase’s rap collective Harlem World (group). Along with his music Loon has also been featured in two movies directed by Damon Dash, State Property 2 and Death of a Dynasty

In Dec. 2008 Brother Amir accepted Islam whilst on tour in Dubai, UAE. He changed his name to Amir Junaid Muhadith.

He recently traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest and most sacred site of the Islamic religion, to perform Umrah. He has since quit rapping and now is focusing on seeking knowledge and giving Da’wa. In an interview with Al Jazeera English, he stated that he could come back to rapping about Islam in the future.

I wanted to share it :)

Happy for him New Brother :cute:
