If you had the choice between learning how to drive an automatic gear car or manual gear car, what would you go for and why?

I hear manual is very difficult...

I think it's good to learn how to drive on an automatic because it's easier... but everyone should know how to drive a manual transmission in case that's all there is some day!

Manual isn't difficult, it just takes a little practice. Gets much better fuel efficiency, and is fun to drive :)

We just traded in my old car (an automatic) for a new one with manual transmission. I'm enjoying it :)

U can control ur car more with manual gear transmition!..feel ur car...enjoy the ride!...

now , the manual gear has four numbers I guess and reverse .

loooool.. i remembered my self when i decided to learn manual and i took 2 lessons,, i didnt feel its difficult but i wanted to drive as soon as i can.. hehehe
i like to drive or in a right way like to see 4WD and i feel its more interesting to drive like wild driver as they always telling me ,,heheh (naughty in roads ..)
and as they say if u know how to drive manual u can drive any car??!!!!

actually i will never ever ever choose an autamtic transmission car... why?? becos u will lose the taste of driing...
the clutch want make a difference for me...
the manual gear is always fun... u know it saved my life once...
cos by the manual gear u can slowen ur car much faster than the autamatic car.. cos changing from gear 5-4-3-2 with the brakes makes greater effect...
plus when i drive autamatic cars, i feel that driving it same as i am playing a computer game.....

some people claim that in trafic jam it is better to have autamatic transmission,, actually i don't find any difference ...

I personally love dricing manual gear but got used to the automatic gear i like it...and when i take my mums car which is Manual i feel "what a hassle heh!!" but driving manual and automatic is very different as fahad explained u get a different feel of the car..and it all depends on what u like...

Manual is much better to learn, if you drive manual you can comfortably drive automatic while the opposite is not true. Driving manual will give you the skill of mastering the driving positions (truning, cornering, parking, etc..) beside getting used to the gear shift which helps improving your control of the car in emergency by reverse shifting. But learnining on automatic is just a limitation of skill i believe. Learn on manual and drive any, manual or automatic its your own choice.
