Sorry as I didn't see this thread and already opened another one in the member lounge about the same topic.

I agree that the new logo is too big and take 1/3 of the screen. It needs to be reduced...plus I don't know why the designer sticks to the blue colors only. This color is already everywhere in the sabla.

i agree with x-press!! the color should be changed!! i'm sick of all this blue! it's all over the sabla.i think that the forum's color should change along with the sign!

about the empty space up right we have future plannes for that empty space....so I guess after second thoughts about the logo size....ITS Suitble ;)

i agree this logo looks big, but the given space to its left is made for future plans as thug said, we can add ad there for example.., once the place becomes full u will not feel that it is empty..

about the colour , yeap we can change it so it can suits the sabla colour , but that depends wether to change the sabla or the logo colours...

about its simplicity, we asked an expert in logo making who studied this field,.. and he said that good logos should be as simple as it can be and adding to much colours or effect like flash make it less better.. and i found him right cos go and look to other logoes of well known companies or products... so simple and so nice ..

It's not the empty space that is the problem, it's the fact that the logo is too high, it pushes the main sabla content too far down the page and consequently, off the screen

i understand ur point TB,
Even we don't put a logo there, still the whole content( i mean the sablas)won't appear and they will be off screen..

remember with the old logo, some sablas where off screen and i used to scroll down to see the health and education forum..

anyway, ur point is valid and we try to decrease the size but not to a limit that it affect the quality of the colours

I agree that a logo should be simple, when it comes to representing a company or a specific trademark, but it doesn't have to be the case for a product or a forum like this one.

As this place is lively, the logo should reflect that energy. The new one is too settle, too clean as if more suitable for a lady fashion company.

As I said in another thread, the old logo worked better. The computerized background gave some energy to the home page and a more up-to-date look. You just need to adjust the colors to the old logo to suit this new sabla and eventually change the typeface of the word "sabla" with something more contemporary. Other then than it was just fine. Would like to hear Don and Blue_Chi's opinion.

I have no problem with the design (although the old one was nicer) just the size, why not just ersize it to somthing like this:

Like the 3D effect on the new sign, gives it a sense of weight....cool. But the whole thing needs sharpening/brightening a bit. Maybe a metallic effect?

The yellow color around the "English Sabla" is not nice, perhaps something lighter? i don’t really have good taste in such things but yellow is surly ugly.

My opinion if anyone cares :)

Thug, It is true what mimo says, the 3D effect with the shade behind the logo is really nice and gives some dimension to the sign. This is to remain like that to my opinion.

What doesn't work now is as if you have darken the front image with also some grey shade. This gives an overall dark logo.

I would suggest to just brighten the logo, not the backdrop shade. Maybe a light color like orange or my favorite "teal" can be inserted on the letter "S". And for last, though this letter "S" works very well for the word "Sabla", it doesn't for the word "English". The "h" is completely isolated and creates a clash..

I would love to help on this one as I took some logo design classes, but I know how to do it manually not on a PC. If the codes are not difficult, I will be more than happy to help you...tell me how.
