I want to do something special for Wanderer! He has been working really hard to earn extra money so I can take time off with the baby, things have been going wrong at work, he is sick, and he still found time to build a little garden plot for me. Poor guy can't even stay home sick because there are painters working and making noise.
And he was still able to come home last night and be cheerful for the family (before having to go to work at 10pm for an emergency!!). Tonight he has to work until 11pm again!

I just want him to know he is appreciated and loved. But I don't want to spend money on a present because the whole point is for us to be saving for the baby... any ideas?

That is very sweet of you MoonChild to want to do something for Wandy in return for his hard work! It is also very sweet of him to do so much around the house while he is sick and working so much to earn something x-tra.

First, I think eventhough you do not want to spend, I believe that even with as little as $3 you can still get something for him, like a nice "thank you" card.

If you do not want to spend at all, I can suggest a special treat at home. If you know at what time he comes back from work, why don't you surprised him one night?

Put dim light and some candles in the sitting room with nice incense around. Make a special little dinner with his favorite home dish and when it is time to relax....just surprised him with a wanderful body massage, as you said you are very good with your hands and do some therapy.

If your pregnancy doesn't allow you to do it, just prepare for him a nice bubble bath with candle around the tub. Make him feel like a baby and just wash him from head to toe...;) Sound like a nice treat to me!
