Let's say that someone does out of their own country, what is the right thing to do? burry them where they died or bring them to their hometown and burry them?

what does islam say?

I don't know if it's right to have someone's dead body on a plane and flown back home. Shouldn't the body be burried right away??

I don't think Islam says anything about this. It's all about what the dead person wants before s/he dies. If s/he said s/he wants to be burried in that country when s/he dies then so be it. If s/he said burry me in my hometown then so be it.

But isn't there anything that says that the body should be burried right away? The body is in distress until it is burried. I think:os

Nowadays there are fridges to keep dead bodies in good condition for quite long time. When someone dies, his family would like to have a last look at him/her. So if s/he's just buried right away then they won't have the chance to look at him/her. Some people consider the place they are burried in very important, so we should grant them this wish after they die. A matter of respect.

^hmm good point. I just heard from someone religious that it is preferred that you burry them where they died. I really don't know

Let's see what the scholars have to say.

The soul is out of the dead body.

فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ

I don't think there is a problem in taking the dead person back home to be buried, sometimes people prefer to be buried even near to their relatives. Might be when they wake up from death on the day of judgement they will recognize the people around them.

The Islamic view is that the person should be buried ASAP.

I think it will depend on the person..

I know families here who have taken the body to be burried back home, and others who got burried in the place they died in.

But IF it were me, And I died here while I was abroad.. ( La inshallah lol )
I'm certain i'd be taken & burried back home.
