I need sleeping pills, please! I can’t sleep, I am tired :(

Any good strong recommended sleeping pills name? doctors? I promise I’ll stop taking the pills once I manage to stay asleep the whole night again.

P.S: I’m not a caffeine-holic and I don’t need to hear about drinking milk, having a hot chocolate, hot shower or eating banana before I sleep, because it’s obviously not working with me and no I’m not in love :bored:

Help, please!!

Well, it's not exactly sleeping pills, but it makes you doze off - Panadol cold & flu for night (the green packaging).

I have already taken 3 panadol pills two hours ago and it didnt help at all.

I think I need something stronger to shut off my heavy head to sleep.

I'm curious as to why you need the pills? perhaps you're thinking too much before laying your head on the pillow?

also how long has this been occuring? I mean couldn't it be a little too soon for the pills?

anyways this may help you but im sorry if it isn't what you're looking for but what i would do is go out and exercise.. seriously it tires the heck out of me and i slam into the bed.

It started in Ramadan, So its been a month now. I'm a person who really needs at least 6 hours to sleep or I will go koko, ....I bearly sleep 3 hours at nigh now. :(

maybe Ramadan messed up your sleeping schedule a bit? i mean it does cause a lot of people to stay up really late and you end up not getting enough sleep?

anyways im really sorry as I've never used any pills but have you considered ALL the alternatives before going for them? they could be really addicting.

I think there is no harm in taking sleeping pills for 2 or 3 nights, just until I get back to my sleeping schedule, that will not get me addicted! :bored:

Welcome to my world! :bored:

I wouldn't recommend pills, try tiring yourself then head to bed. Since this started in Ramadhan, then you might need sometime to get yourself used to the old schedule!

please don't take any medication without a proper diagnosis. try some valerian tablets (natural remedy) and drink some camomile. also put lavender drops on your pillow.

Try going outside in the sun and doing manual labor for a few hours.

You will sleep like a log then.

3 panadols 2 hours ago? Sleeping pills for 2 days and you promise you'll quit? Ookay...

Nyquil help? Go batsh!t in your room dancing/working out till you feel like you're going to drop dead and then warm shower and hit the bed. Or I'll suggest some good stochastic calculus books I'm reading now... that'll put you to sleep alright.

I have 1 more suggestion, but I'm sure it'll result in a lifetime ban in this prude forum.

Go to the doctors, and let them recommend something. That is what I do and she prescribed a pill. I forgot what is was called, but it worked like a charm - I was sleeping 8+ hours and I took it for 5 days, till I was able to sleep again by myself.

PS: If you want a strong sleeping pill, you've to get it through a prescription. Where I am, I can't get it over the counter like other pills (panadol etc). So I am forced to go see a doctor for them.

I used to take those and they didnt do me any good. I remember once I didnt sleep for 2 straight nights and took 2 panadol night and they didn't do any effect in me, they just made me dizzy.

Evana, if you are already following the sleep hygiene instructions & can't sleep despite that, then there is no harm in taking a short of course of tablets that aid sleeping

Besides, there are mood disturbances close to the time of menstruation & insomnia can be related to that

If it's something that has been affecting you for a along time, then you need a thorough assessment in order to treat the cause rather than treating the symptoms only

I'd rather not mention names of sleeping pills in public, I can prescribe you something if you wish, or PM me & I'll suggest few names so you can ask your Dr to prescribe them

All such medications are prescription drugs & you can't get them over the counter

For sure you need to reduce your caffeine intake. I suffer from what's called hypersomelence and this is when a person is chronically tired. Get evaluated...don't depend on sleeping pills find healthier alternatives.

Sorry guys, I have been awfully sick with a flu the last 5 days. I am kinda still recovering! Never underestimate flu people, flu IS serious disease.

Anyway, I went to a doctor and she prescribed for me Unifed pills, Triprolidine HCl 2.5 mg, I slept like a dead body. It was so relieving! I think it’s ok to mention it in public, It’s not like a very strong drug, right?

Thank you HITMAN! I appreciate your help, doctor. I will be still PMing you later! :)

And thanks Min, that’s interesting! I think I can try some camomile.

Thanks you all guys for your advices, noted them all down just in case I needed to try something new.

Tripolidine is one of the active substances of the commonly used medication sold under the trade name Actifed

Most of the drugs used for cold & flu have some degree of sedative effect, but that's not the purpose they are used for

Tripolidine is a drug of the anti-histamine group, regular use can cause weight gain

I haven't read the thread, just the initial post. But I had a lot of trouble sleeping some years ago and what worked for me was Ambien.

You're not groggy when you wake up as with many other pills.

I took it for a while and I was afraid to stop. But I found that when I did stop, I learned to sleep on my own pretty quickly!

I had nothing but positive experience with it.

Sweet dreams! :)

Ambien? Hmm I think I haven’t tried that yet or maybe I did! :p

I sleep like a baby now, 6 + hours every night, and wake up all refreshed, I feel good.

Thanks Jeff, and welcome back :)

I was just wondering if sleeping pills have an opposite side affect? Because I have experienced extreme spurt of hyperness 2 days ago, I couldnt sleep, but no headache, actually I felt great lol,... though I don’t take the pills on a regular basis.

I think you might benefit from melatonin, a small dose of maybe 1mg because when it comes to melatonin less can be more. Its available at the GMC shop at City Centre

you wouldn't get addicted to melatonin, honestly, its something the body makes and something that can at times get out of balance a bit.

Anyway, here's to you getting a good nights sleep sometime soon.
