Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying," Allah divided Mercy into one-hundred parts and He kept its ninety-nine parts with Him and sent down its one part on the earth, and because of that, its one single part, His creations are Merciful to each other, so that even the mare lifts up its hoofs away from its baby animal, lest it should trample on it."

ِAllah swt is more merciful to his people than a mother to her baby, would any mother throw her baby in the fire?
so does Allah swt he will not throw his people in the fire UNLESS they willingly and knowingly chose to disobey him and associate partners with him.
as the Almighty Allah said in the holy Quran :
4.48. [B]Assuredly God does not forgive that partners be associated with Him; less than that He forgives to whomever He wills (whomever He has guided to repentance and righteousness either out of His pure grace or as a result of the person’s choosing repentance and righteousness by his free will). Whoever associates any partner with God has indeed fabricated a most heinous sin.
