Many people I know are having the flu, cough and the package. It just passes from person to person. God, I hate these times of the year. So when these days of the year come, when everyone is sick, sick and sick, how do you handle it?
Do you help the sick ones, and be one of them, or just leave them so you won't be one of them?

I have Redoxon. Kills it before I get it. My husband easily gets it; but I never got it from him because of Redoxon.
Hmmmm, I don't know. I don't care much really, Ii'm not one to be repelled by illnesses, especially something as mild as a cold/flu. As tp helping anyone with a cold/flu, yeah sure, just as long as they don't overdo it :p.

I don't get sick very easily, thank god. Specially when it comes to flu and fever.

I think this is related to change in whether. It's not exactly a problem for me, 'cause I'm usually sick when everyone around me are fine, and vice-versa.

Yeah, poor us. :(
My throat has been in pain every morning for the last 4-5 days. I had flu for a day, but thats gone now.
the medical treatment is Do nothing. If there is a bacterial secondary infection, then u may take antibiotics. Lets ur immunity plays some games.
In Oman, other countries too, The private clinics has played a very important rle in changing the practice of dealing with flu. Basically, the treatment is symptomatic depending of what stage you are in the viral infection.
i saw some clinics prescribing very strong antibiotics, which absolutely not necessary. bacteria get resistance and they can evolve into a much more virulent form.
Just think of it, why most private pharmacies are next to a private clinic.
Actually what most people suffer from 3-4 times/year are the acute coryzal symptoms, also called the common cold, it's a mild self-limited viral condition that is very easily transmitted
All the person needs is good hydration, mild rest & over the counter medications such as:

Flu has similar symptoms as the common cold but the fever is very high & there is notable exhaustion & generalized body aches, the sick can't go to work for example & needs bed rest, children & especially older people can die from the condition when there are complications
Older people should take the flu vaccine every year
And as FaHaD mentioned, antibiotics do no treat viral conditions, unless those conditions are complicated by bacterial superinfection
Alright I am officially sick now. Bad flu and throat pain. First time in like two years. Damn co-workers. I can't sleep!
certain companies with requires hard working follow a very harsh way to get rid of flu. They spray very salinated (salted) water into teh nose which kills all the cells with the virus. continuous spraying may lead to chronic fibrosis (hardening in the nasal wall).
