I do not know if this topic was raised before, i just want to know why are there no women teams in any sports?
If it is for religioous reasons then why are there not events held by women for women?
I for one would love to particitpate but never had the chance to do anything. I would have loved to do swimming and horse ridding.....bas wain...

There are women teams but only belong to some companies like pdo and others.
About ridding horses you can by involving in Royal Stabels is Seeb.:)
About swemming : where where where ? I can't remember , you can jump in the ( jabyah ) do u know it.( it's the swemming pool in omani farms ). ;)

But why no one make a private place in oman for girls to practice sports. :(

I guess you dont reliaze that the sports activities carried out in the culbs are supported by the governement, and to have sport for girls it have to pass thier approval so they can assign a budget for that.
The government spend little money on sports for men which is not enough to cover all games. They don't have money to spent it on girls cos it is non-lasting investment.
they think how long the girls will play 5, 10, 15 years!!!! men play 20 years. plus, girls stop playing when they get married and be busy with kids and other family comittments. so there is no point in that.
the best way for girls to work out is in private club, as I guess someone mention PDO and othters.
Sports in Oman is a joke, so don't take seriously and try to attempt it with full manners, just keep is as fun level only. <---- My advice.

Guyes that what I was talking about when in "Where do girls go"..why not have sports events for us too? am sure that Royal stables are not open for public ..not even to guyes..and what about the shooting thing I asked you about do you know where any one can practise that?
Waedat_alkhaleej I heard about female teams( basketball and volley) competing in rhamdan but I dont know the details ..I'll try to do that but any way you will need practise..I think its up to us girls to encourge these kind of activites since no one will give us any "face" :P
How about car raceing ?have you thought of that :P
If you go first then am after you all the way ( don't count on that<---thats what the little honest Sarab in me is saying)..
what else?Hmm? someone come up with ideas :P

Sarab hala,
Well, i know that i will be looking for this information when i get back to oman in Xmas....as for the <basketball and volleyball> those were my best sport during my High school days, i was in the volleyball team in school as for basket ball we used to play another version of it in school called net ball. Basket ball i would play at home with my bro at times.
I do believe that it it up to us to introduce these sports into our country, we would just need the motivation and the insentive to go ahead. We need people to show us attention and to show themthat we are seriuos about this issue
AS for the car racing then yaaaa.....!! Go ahead.. i know we can go to the Go-Karts place in Al_hail bas is that enough. I used to go there when i was younger, bas i never had the chance to go there recently....<i am not in oman...lol>.
Well, i think i am happy with a little speeding on the road...lol. Would love to do something like a rally....well allay ya3lam.
Salam. :)

Rallying sounds good but a lot of practice is necessary. I'd love it if someone somewhere started a gymnastics club. I love to watch it and I'd love to participate.

Girls we can make our own team (Sabla Team)..
but you have to decide on one sport ;)

Just kidding( min qilat il7elah)
Have fun doing nothing....
..for the guyes especially who commneted on why we need to do sports.Guyes we also have some energy to spend and alot of spare time.remeber that Prophet Mo7amad (9alla allaho 3alih wasallam said:"3alimo awladakm ilsiba7at walrimayata wrkoob ilkhyl" and the wrod"awaldakom" doesnt mean boys only.I think its worth mentioning that there is an Emirati team for Rimayah(what do you call it in English:P)..all females who is really succeful and participated in many arabic events and won the gold more than once. They really look nice with their 3abays..realy proud of that team and hope that we have the same oppertunity here in Oman for women.
Care all

The only reason guys dont want us to play sports is coz they know that we'll beat them!!

jk.....................lol

Actually it would be great to be able to take part in team sports in Oman.............i cant wait for it..... but somehow i think that it would take a while ( a long while ) untill this will be put into action.
