View Full Version : Wedding in Ireland, and honeymoon....?
Endure Whisper 04-06-08, 02:06 PM A family friend is getting married in Ireland early September and was thinking of a honeymoon destination.
Since she and her husband are both students, they cannot afford much.. so they're planning to stick to Europe but had difficulties choosing where to go.
"Cheapest country in Europe" quoting her exact words!
So yes, something cheap but also nice or atleast suitable for honeymooners for not more than 5 nights.
Anyone can help here?
Thanks :)
minerva 04-06-08, 03:48 PM somewhere east. poland, croatia, czech republic, slovenia...
depends how inexpensive they want to go.
Endure Whisper 04-06-08, 04:07 PM ^ I heard good stuff about Czech Republic too.
Rossonero 04-06-08, 04:22 PM There is nothing called Cheap in Europe :p
NicoBambi 04-06-08, 04:26 PM I agree with Rosso lol
definitely the east .. Romania is quite cheap
UmKhalid 06-06-08, 12:09 AM Luxemburg!
minerva 06-06-08, 12:12 AM Luxemburg!
i thought luxembourg was an expensive country lol.
UmKhalid 06-06-08, 12:15 AM  Even if they went by car?
Greece and Portugal are the cheapest "Western" European countries...i.e, those that never went communist.
But the rock bottom cheapest of all is supposed to be Moldova.
I've heard Malta is nice! :)

yeps it is lovely but not too much on the cheap side. maybe if they tell us how much the budget is, i can post some hotels that fit that budget.

See? Now that's what you want. Locals who can give you good advice.
That makes things cheaper than some general things you read in a book.
Personally, I dunno why they don't just stay in Ireland! I dunno what place could be more romantic than the Emerald Isle! :)

EW there is nothing called cheap in Europe. This couple only need to do it smartly and they will go to the best city in Europe cheaply. All they have to do is going to this website: www.easyjet.com . Earlier they book cheaper they get it. If they want to go to Venese in Italy for example. Let them book the ticket Oman- Paris-Oman. Book now ( let's say a month from their fly time ) online from easyjet from Paris to Venese. A five nights in Venese in a respectful hotel with the plane tickets won't cost them more than 500 Rials.
P.S: Venese is only an example. Most European cities cost the same when it comes to easyjet. And they can even spend their honeymoon in more than one city. Let them just try it and book according to their budget.
It would be more expensive if they book short time from their flight. They just need to book earlier cos that's the system there.
ToomuchaT 06-06-08, 02:23 AM Scunthorpe!
L:hyper:L ... Cleethorpe will be the hot sot for them.

I think they better find somewhere in Ireland itself instead of going somewhere else especially they are limitted in budget.
minerva 06-06-08, 02:24 AM  Even if they went by car?
i think flights are the same everywhere. it's the staying, eating and going out that's gonna cost them a bomb.
I suggest Bosnia, an amazing country!
Diabian 06-06-08, 02:08 PM ^ I heard good stuff about Czech Republic too.
czech republic is where Amr Diab shot his Tamaly Ma3ak and Al-A'llem Allah music video :D
Czech is awesome.. I'd LOVE to go there on my honeymoon. xD
Soulless 06-06-08, 10:09 PM i suggest them not to get married.
Superfreak 07-06-08, 05:08 AM ^ what right do u have to suggest that ? the thread is about a honeymoon spot, not whether or not they should get married.
Endure Whisper 07-06-08, 09:47 AM Thanks for your inputs :)
Well, I asked her for the budget and she said Maximum 500 Omani Rials (approximately, 820 euros/1,300 US dollars) for not more than 5 nights.
Hope that will help with suggesting places.
Thanks :)
minerva 07-06-08, 12:45 PM is that inclusive of everything? (flights, accomodation and entertainment)
minerva 07-06-08, 01:03 PM this is a beautiful hotel in malta, and really really romantic.
it's situated in the ancient city of Mdina (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mdina)
http://www.xarapalace.com.mt/
(if you scroll down you can see the 4 days package)
this hotel is in a grand area, but it's not by the sea, if the sea is what they are looking for i suggest another hotel.
------------
this hotel is on the island of Gozo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gozo). Gozo is stunning (but stay away from it in August, when it's full of Maltese youths out to party)
the sea is magnificent....
and this hotel is really good

and check out their packages here

------------
and if they like nightlife, night clubs, dancing...you know all those sinful things..
this is ideal.
hotel's very good. good food and service. especially if you dine out on the verandah that looks over the rocky beach.

He's suggesting it for their own good, they didn't even get married and they're worrying about the money for their honeymoon ... sad world
Endure Whisper 07-06-08, 02:13 PM is that inclusive of everything? (flights, accomodation and entertainment)
That includes the flight and accomodation only.
Thanks for your input minerva.. so you said to stay away in August, what about September? They'll be there in September.

eek..then those hotels are a bit out of range.
this hotel is good because it's across the road from the sandy beach.
it's within range i think, but it might be fully booked for the rest of the year.

Endure Whisper 07-06-08, 02:24 PM ^ you're fast hehe. thanks!
minerva 07-06-08, 02:27 PM september is nice too....and busy (not as much as August, them pesky students go back home to prepare for school). But i wouldn't miss a chance to go to Gozo.
Soulless 07-06-08, 05:07 PM ^ what right do u have to suggest that ? the thread is about a honeymoon spot, not whether or not they should get married.

Endure Whisper 07-06-08, 05:30 PM Soulless, I suggest you not post in this thread.
Soulless 07-06-08, 08:52 PM I suggest them not to get married =)
am afraid that they will get bored of each others within a short time , so i suggested some thing good for both of them.
Superfreak 09-06-08, 05:14 AM ^how can you say that ? You don't know them personally.
Soulless 27-11-08, 01:02 AM i Suggest them not to get married.
*damn reading my old post it was full of sarcasm* =/
Superfreak 27-11-08, 05:28 AM ^clearly and false assumptions.
soulles you seem so bored to repeat the same post more than 3 times :p
Soulless 27-11-08, 10:42 AM Thats why when i was reading this thread once again i started to laugh , Damn Soulless used to be really annoying to much red reps xD , my intention was to tease them thats why i repeated it 3 times.
somewhere east. poland, croatia, czech republic, slovenia...
depends how inexpensive they want to go.
Have you been to Czech?? its even more expensive then Paris.
I think she should book from cheaptickets an go to Paris its the best and pluse you can go anywhere with a small budget you just have to find some easy ways to save money.
