As a child, I used to use secret codes for whenever I needed to communicate with my friends/cousins and didn't want someone else in the room to understand.

Little did I know.. our secret codes were transparent  :p

For example: If I wanted to say I got my periods yesterday without my brother knowing I'd say: "I saw sawsan yesterday" lol!

Silly!

Also, we'd have girl names for any guy we know.. Like: Abdulla=Aisha, Badar=Basma, and so on..

My husband was telling me if he had a date, he'd tell his friend he's going to the playground (mal3ab lool) if someone else was around.

Haha.. Days!! As a matter of fact, I still use some.

I'm sure many of you had/has secret codes too. Wanna share some?

"I saw sawsan yesterday" lol!
Holy bananas ! :hyper: this cracked me up.
I'm wondering, why sawsan ?

I only re-call one:
- When someone says a lie or shows off, I used to say: my friend "Il digag '3aly hal yomain" *Chicken is expensive these days*
and my other friend understands and we laugh. :p

I remember my nieces using their own code, it was like spelling the words in a different way, it was totally different language, I got lost when they used it.

The brain.

Me and my cousins have a whole list of nicknames that we give people, so that they don't know that we're talking about them in public :p Starting from the word "na5eel" to "ketchup." :D Also, we have that converting a guy's name to a girl thing going on.

As for periods, me and my classmates would say: "I have jam on bread!" :hyper: This way, the guys could never guess. Haha.

Me and my mum also have codes about people, and we usually use them when my lil bro and sis are around :p Like we'd refer to a person as: "My boss" which is supposedly husband, or a guy I find attractive :D

Me and my sis can speak Gibberish!
I swear to u, it's like a made up language that litterly sounds like gibberish
and were the only ones that can understand it & it's not for one or two words..
Like for EVERYTHING! .. Lol

But the funniest incident that happened with moi is ..

Me and my friend had this code we used for this Dude..
And he came up to me and hes like..
"Yeah btw what do you think of "his code" , He's hot Eh ?"

I stood there like.. WTF dude *all shyed up* how do u kno about that? LOL
And he's like.. U really need to tape that girls mouth..
But he was right, she needed the tape lol

My cousins and I have a secret language, which we still use.

But unfortunately, now half of the family understands that language, lol.

Omani men always ask these two questions when they dont want to be explicit about the issue:

haa kaif el raggal? "how is the man?"

haa kaif el mauthoo3? "How is that matter going?"

In Oman, you would hear these two questions almost daily!

If me and my cousin were talking on the phone and someone was around me I'd say: "7a99alt 9ar9oor fi baitna" (I found a cocoroach in my house) or "mushkilla khalla9 il pifpaf!" (We've run out of pifpaf) XD

If we are referring to getting our period, then it is "il sheikha zaretna" (i.e Her Highness visited us). If I want to ask a friend is she has pads, then I would ask her if she has got some "biscuits". We also have nicknames for people, when we want to refer to them and don't want the people around us to know.

Also, if there is somebody around us and we can't talk about something on the phone, then we just keep saying "Aha... Aha...Aha!" till the other person on the other end gets it :p

heh same :p

When my cousin and I were around 10-11 we created this arabic/english/italian code, so if I wanted to go to the toilet I'd say 'bru7ari el bathroomari' *notice the mix of arabic/english/italian :hyper:* or when I'd ask her if she wants to go to this specific mall I'd say 'tru7ari mujama3 el 7arthari'
but ofcourse, it didn't last long :p

Some current codes are 'tweety' if the hair was poking out of the scarf and 'international call' to cover up the chest area if it wasn't covered well.

My secret codes were mostly related to people...

One relative of mine was called "KANJOOS" (meaning selfish/stingy in hindi)
Another was "camel"
Hmm.. if someone was going out on a date the group called it "tareekh" (meaning date in arabic)
Others are UNSHARABLE as it will unencrypt the code ;)

sorryyy :D

hehe i still use them!

when i was in high school we invested a coding language.. each letter was in another letters.. eg : b=qwa c= cen d=la
i cnt rremmber it now! but it was damn hard ! LOL n no1 could ever break the code.. we even talked that way sometimes in class.. not just writing!

now its just normal stuff..
