I found it really interesting rather ironic !
The letters have many hidden feelings that make them really deserve reading

Anav Silverman, a young Israeli woman who works in Sderot and Mona Yousef, a young Palestinian woman living in northern Gaza, exchange their third and final letters via the BBC website.

Mona is an English Literature graduate who works as a translator. Anav is studying English literature and political science at Bar Ilan university. She works part time in Sderot's media centre, just a few kilometres from Mona.

Fascinating!

The fact that these two people who are living so close together and suffering has lead to lots of contact. I posted something recently about the Mayor of Sderot having conversations with the Gazans just a few miles away on the other side of the wall.

A lot of them feel drawn together, as if they are the ones suffering from decisions made by people who they can't control:

Either the Israelis government or the jihadists firing rockets in Gaza.

The jihadists fire rockets at innocent Israelis living in Sderot. Then they run away!

The Israelis fire back and hit innocent Gazans!

I saw a picture a few months ago of a Gaza man who had a farm with an olive grove. The jihadists kept coming and hiding in his olives and firing rockets. He asked them not to but they ignored him and threatened him.

And one day, after they fired some rockets, the Israelis fired back. They hit the house of the Gazan man and killed his mother and sister.

So the next day he went out to his olive trees with a power saw and cut them all down and left them dead. Every single one. I saw the pictures. The whole grove of ancient trees, gone.

"There!" he said. "Enough! No more!" No more place for the rocket firers to hide.

You know, I thought I bookmarked it when I found it some time ago, but when I went back and looked, I couldn't find it. :(

Couldn't find it again with google either...

So perhaps I won't be believed, but that's okay! :)

Don't you think that it is always the poor and the working class citizens who pay the price for the political gambles and ideologies of their political leadership?

Sadly it's true.

The Palestinians are responding back to the Isaelis aggression, not the other way around Jeff. Let us put facts straight.

The Jewish lady said this:

For me it is important to state that the Jewish homeland was not suddenly remembered by the Jewish people after 2,000 years.

The land of Israel has always been the centre of our ancient Jewish traditions: in our holidays, prayers and the Hebrew Bible.

In other word, Palestine belongs to us.

^ Besides...it's clear from the letters that those home made Qassams only hit Sderot and other very few and limited parts of Israel. While, on the other hand Israeli F16s hit whatever part they want of Pali. Not to mention the warning Sirens and bomb shelters in Sderot and how people (like Anav herself) are free to sleep or even leave town for the night or for good. She herself mentioned how many immigrated from Sderot. Can't compare that to Gaza.
