Members of a lower caste held demonstrations Tuesday as authorities in India filed murder charges after five days of violent protests left 39 people dead — 38 shot by police.
Murder and rioting charges were filed against the leader of the tribe, Kirori Singh Bainsala, and 13 supporters after Bainsala rejected an offer for talks aimed at resolving the dispute, Rajasthan state Home Secretary Vijay Shankar Singh said late Monday.

It time for Indian government to train its own police in how to quell unruly mobs without having to kill people.
