View Full Version : Hello :)
Laura_Jayne 30-05-08, 01:37 PM Hi! I'm brand new here, so I thought I would introduce myself. I've been in Muscat now for about 7 weeks, I moved out here by myself for a job & I'm really enjoying it so far. There's more of a social scene here than I was lead to believe before I came out. Also, I kinda wish I had foiund this forum before I moved out here, I had so many questions! People were very helpful who I asked though.
1) How did you hear about this English Sabla? From Omanforum
2) What is your impression about this forum? I haven't had time to gather a full one yet, but so far everyone seems very friendly
3) What is the meaning of your nickname? My name hehe
4) How old are you and what is your nationality? 26, British
5) What topics interest you the most (expl: Art, Politic, Religion..)? MUSIC!! Guitar music that is
7) What is your first language? English
8) Do you know how to use most of the Sabla options? Think so
9) Do you know how to use your private message box? Yes
10) Did you read all the Sabla Rules? Yes

My favourite band is Pearl Jam, & I've travelled to Poland & Paris to see them
I've never used Mac before, so couldn't comment :cute:
Emotional or physical? No extenal ones really, just small ones.
I LOVE music & listen to it daily. I downloaded many of my CDs onto my ipod & have JBL speakers so its like a mini system
Do you know what does sabla means?
I don't!! I was wondering that...
Sabla is a traditional Omani word (I think it has arabic roots too) which means a place where Omani people used to meet, to dicuss things and have coffee with dates.
Welcome to sabla.
And I hope you enjoy your stay in Oman :)
Hmm. A Britt who listens to Pearl Jam.

Just kidding. I generally like Britons. Welcome.

Welcome, Laura.
I'm the resident loudmouth. And buffoon. People say I'm nice, but that's because they don't really know me! ;)
Sabla is wonderful. The people are all very friendly and interesting. And they manage to attract and keep outsiders--like me; I'm American--just because of who they are.
Take a good look at the people on this thread so far because they are some of the best. You'll see them popping up again and again.

from Which part of UK u r from?
and...is it your first time traveling abroad....and why Oman?
Laura_Jayne 31-05-08, 12:59 AM Wow, thank you so much guys I feel so welcome!! :D
I come from nr. Coventry in the UK, which is just underneath Birmingham. I'm not sure how well known it is... It got flattened in World War II
This is my first time living away from home, nevermind overseas :shy: But I'm really enjoying it so far. I got offered a good job out here, but I was looking to move to the Middle East because the UK was becoming too expensive, Middle East looks great on the CV & tax free salary!!
For those who have moved to Oman from other coutries; why did you choose Oman?
Do you get yampy if you can't eat a batch on your corsey?
Well you won't be sent to Coventry either way...
