Heeeeeeeeeeere's JOHNNY!

For five years, I've been wanting to watch The Shining. I've been too scared though, and finally, I mustered up some courage and decided I should give it a watch. I did so several days ago...I was flabbergasted at the power of this movie. It's not really blood and gore (although that's quite a bit of it), it sort of tackles your brain a lot about whether what happens is...real or in the characters' heads. It's not a plot twist as much as it is a very very very interesting movie. Very challenging. And very artistically directed by THE director, Stanley Kubrick.

Jack Nicholson's acting was...Unforgettable. His iconic 'Heeeeere's JOHNNY!' is simply phenomenal and disturbing.
Just see how this guy prepares for his scene...It's perfect (warning: this video contains a crucial scene of The Shining. Don't watch it if you haven't watched the movie!)

It's probably the scariest movie ever made.

But scary BECAUSE it's so well done.

Nicholson is one of the greatest actors ever. If you loved him in this, make sure you see "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" if you haven't already.

^It's not much, the blood and gore...I mean, it's enough to scare the crap out of anybody but it's not the Saw type of scary movie. They're both scary movies, this has a lot less blood, but it has a lot more scare and LOOOOOOADS more highly professional acting.

Kubrick is rumored to have had a shot with Scatman Crothers filmed over ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY TIMES in order to get just the right take!

I think the scariest thing in the movie is just that little kid.

The scenes of him rolling around those vast floors on his little cart, shot from a kids eye view make your hair stand up.

And those creepy conversations he has with his hand!

^Brrr...That Tony personality's freaky stuff.
One of the scariest stuff is when Danny's brushing his teeth at the beginning of the movie and has a vision...FREAKY!

I like the movie, but the book was even better.

Another absolutely freaking movie and IMHO the scariest movie ever, is The Omen - the original version that came out in the late 70's.

PS : you do know that our Sabla buddy Jack uses an avatar based on Jack Nicholson's role in the movie ?

God, I still can't get that scene out of my head...I mean, the fear and desperation that Shelly Duvall (his wife in the movie) expressed only with her eyes and screams, as he hacks his way with the axe is so true, it just takes your breath away.

I'm watching 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' :D
