View Full Version : New members!
squinty 08-05-08, 04:14 PM I have seen a lot of new members who come here and post 1 topic and then LEAVE! :mmhmm:
I mean, why do they open a topic if they will never be back?
I think people who just register here and post 1 post and leave should have their topics locked really...
They don't even care about what they said or asked.
I think they want to book a nickname for the future.
Diabian 08-05-08, 05:09 PM I think we should not restrict freedom to post !!
We cannot know the intentions of the members from the first time they post!
NicoBambi 08-05-08, 05:09 PM lol, yeah, what to do ?!
maybe the member will come back in few month and be really active .. we can't know that
NiGhTFaCe 08-05-08, 05:23 PM Why lock their threads?!
J'adore 08-05-08, 05:42 PM Or maybe they just got busy? Just a thought
Superfreak 08-05-08, 06:48 PM There's no valid reason for locking their threads.
i came in 2004 and posted only 1 post, then i came back last year and remained active!
They want to piss you off.
Diabian 08-05-08, 09:43 PM ^ hhhheeeeeeeehheeeeeeeeeeeeeheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
I tried hard to laugh :( ended up farting!!
Angel_Eyes 09-05-08, 12:20 AM Why lock their threads?!

Better be careful girl, or u might end up with a permanent fracture, i mean infraction, or whatever that is
Orgullo 09-05-08, 02:11 AM yah.... i never get it why they do that...
Inzain mu ye3awrak?
(whats paining you?)
...
It won't change anything in your life you know.
^ exactly, lol. there is no harm in it. and besides, you can't be sure if they'll be coming back or not. it took Riv 3 years before he became active.
u like like u cnt view an attached file until u post a 100 pots i think.. maybe a rule should be made that u cnt post a new thres until u have 10 posts, or 20!
NicoBambi 09-05-08, 01:46 PM then how do new members open a welcoming thread ?! lol
Dam3eti 09-05-08, 03:05 PM Maybe they just wanted to use you and ask a question so they posted a thread, :p
I tried hard to laugh :( ended up farting!!
Awwwwwww. :bored:
Anyways,
Its either they got busy or they registered to ask a question/get an info and leave. :)
NiGhTFaCe 09-05-08, 05:03 PM Where is squinty?! I am still waiting an answer for my question :bored:
Diabian 09-05-08, 06:53 PM ^ Ya and I want him to answer Bling's question as well :color:

squinty 09-05-08, 08:26 PM Why lock their threads?!
Because people get into it and reply FOR the person who opened the topic (most cases) however he is not there and never cares!
Why should people write to a ghost?
Who MIGHT be back after so many years which may have already resolved his problem/question....etc
NiGhTFaCe 09-05-08, 11:08 PM You are not pleasing anyone, here you are pleasing yourself, so if this new member didn't reply, you shouldn't be bothered, plus we don't have ghosts indicator in the forum, so we can really say who is a ghost & who isn't :bored:
NicoBambi 09-05-08, 11:10 PM At the same time, is the answers are what s/he was looking for, he's not forced to reply.

It doesn't matter if he/she didn't reply. Remember, other members are reading too and they too may benefit from your answer.
Pygmalion 10-05-08, 10:11 AM When I first registered I wasnt planing to stay for more than the break I had that January...I am surprised for having been around since then...I am never into these online things other than some other engineering forums!
and I think we shouldnt bother about those semi-members...it would be too bad for sabla to lock threads for that reason and there is no way to tell whether a member will stay or not, but I know that some of those people have been invited by other active members but did not find the place as appealing which is fine, it is not expected to be liked by everybody!
then how do new members open a welcoming thread ?! lol
i so 4got about that ! hehehe
but cnt an option put to only allow a thread to be opned there! hehe
NicoBambi 10-05-08, 04:25 PM I'm not sure.. we need an admin to answer .. lol
