It was funny, amazing visual work & great acting. There was this part where you might feel the movie is cooling down & might end. But, then unexpected turn comes up to bring the excitement back.

I don't find Charlize Theron at all attractive.

The movie overall wasn't bad. Actually, the first half hour or so was extremely funny. Will Smith has great charisma, and it's twice as funny when he has a slightly darker character to play.

For me, it trailed off a bit after that...the laughs got more scarce, and the plot line plunged into unnecessarily complicated and almost mawkish sentimentality. The second half of the movie was very much a family-level, safe and un-challenging picture, that could have been much improved by maintaining the simple but more adult (and sometimes viciously funny) pitch of the first few scenes.

One more irritation while I'm on it (and I can see this becoming a recurring rant as more movies take this path), is CGI: Sure, it's a superhero movie, albeit an unusual one, and some things really can't be done in real life. But piling up cars digitally instead of throwing real ones around feels like a fake. Call me old fashioned, but things that can be done for real - car chases, broken windows, the odd explosion - really do have a lot more impact and entertainment value when it's real steel and glass being smashed up for fun. No more CGI short cuts please!

Overall though, it was a good light-hearted movie. Not a classic, and possibly less than it could have been, but Smith rocked as usual, some of the dialogue and capers were genuinely hilarious, and it left a pretty good taste. And room for a sequel?

At the beginning it was kinda funny but then it got meaningless! And the story wasn't that solid! I can see why the critics on Yahoo! gave it a smashing C+ :p

The very large budget of the movie: 150 million dollars ( higher than the last James bOND MOVIE casino Royale with a budget of 105 millions)... the not so good reviews by critics ( most of them just above average) .. and the competing movies now in cinema... doesn't make it too easy for the film to be a box office hit!

To be honest, I was kind of disappointed. I went to the Cinema with v.high hopes! I even left the Tennis match (Federer vs. Nadal) for it! The I like the beginning of the movie, then it gets exciting in the middle, then boom....once we find out about her it gets cheesy for me. The story could've been so much better without that bit of the story! Ugh...anyway, I enjoyed it somehow, lol.

I've heard about this movie. I really want to see it. Sounds exciting and funny:p

it's Will Smith, i'm bound to have fun no matter how crappy the movie might be.

So.. the film is a commercial success/critical flop; which is OK because its made for commercial purposes.
So far $204,829,632 worlwide. ( As i said before, the film costed 150 million to produce).

*Minor spoilers*

I went in with low expectations because of the bad reviews. The movie started out ok, and then actually got better for a while. I was laughing, having fun despite the really bad CGI. For a $150 million you'd expect good CGI, I guess all the money went into Will Smith's pocket. Then about half way through we finally find out why Charlize Theron is in the movie and the movie just turns on its head. It becomes a huge mess. Massively bad CGI huge action sequences, and violence upon violence. The movie forgets that its a comedy and just escalates for no reason. The ending was way too violent for a PG-13 movie. Characters get beaten up to a pulp, but why? Did the director think that the only way to emotionally engage the viewers was to show them the main characters being shot and beaten to bits? It just didn't fit.

This could have been a really great satire of superhero movies, but they blew it. Another thing, the movie needed a main villain.

the story sucked. The director kept zooming in/out on the characters the entire movie. Half way through the movie i noticed the zooming wasnt steady.. not sure if it was part of the special effects or maybe the camera guy got tired.
