Oh Mabrook, I didn't know you were engaged. May you've a blissful marriage inshallah :)

Before we could answer this question, first we need to know what he is interested in. Anything he talks about often? Something you think he needs (perhaps like a new wallet because some guys never want to change it for some reason )?

Depends on his taste:

I would say for that amount, you could get him a good Swiss watch or Ipod, add a little more and u can get a decent HTC

Congratulations :)

I like it when a gift has a lot of thought put into it. For my guy's last birthday, I got him something for each of his senses. For touch, I got him a nice D&G belt. For smell, some perfume. For taste, a birthday cake. For hearing, I made him a mixed CD with some of "our" songs. For sight, there was the birthday card with a personalized note inside.

Too bad he didn't realize there was a pattern, and they weren't just a bunch of random gifts  Ahhh, guys... lol

Congratulations on your engagement :)

About the gifts: watch, mobile phone, a couple of non-pirated software (programs that he likes), something to install in his car (bluetooth, camera, etc-- if he doesn't have them), pet? (if he likes animals), or you can go to Oman Jewellery and have them ingrave something personal for you on a piece of metal (you can get the metal yourself or from them), pen (the pen should include a stamp with his nam), turban, a very nice prayer mat (Persian mats), or something too personal like going to "Crystal" in Khamis Plaza and write him something on a piece of semi-crystal rock.

Since he is into cars or electronic gadgets, then I like these ideas:

Firstly congratulations :)

I suggest you get him a watch, an iPod touch if he doesn't already have one and you could load it with songs for him too, or one of those crystal blocks that are laser engraved with a 3D image within the block (the image could be something of sentimental value).

Or if he's still in touch with his childhood and you can increase the budget you could get him a nitro remote control car, they run on fuel and they're loud and fast. Guys would easily get hooked on them :p

how abouts having a great day out together with that money? like you go to his and hers facials, massages, a good meal and a good film. make it a day to remember.

like tell him to take a day off, pick him up in your car and tell him 'be prepared to be spoiled'.

Awww congratulations Falling Star, may you both have a happy ending :cute:

Well, looks like it's been a while since you both got engaged. Am sure you've been to much outings and stuff, I dunno if you're the type which collects lil stuff that reminds you of the day you both went to this restaurant or you both had a nice time on the beach and photos from each outing.. if so, why not not get a scrapbook album and stick the photos and stuff that remind you of the good times you both had and write your own comments on them. Like what you felt, any funny moments you both encountered.. etc.

One day, when you both are finally toghether with dozens of kids surrounding you you'll laugh at the comments and photos and will relive precious memories of the time you're experiencing now :)

falling star im facing a similar issue witha gift at the moment, what i decided was to combine a bunch of random gifts and put my best effort in for the card [ its my fav part of every gift, i love making them ;p]
the belt idea wud be nice, maybe u can get a key chain with that, a nice top or a cap, perfume and the card. adding a mixed CD would also be great!
