As you can see, todays society has this "mind" that says guys should not cry, be weak, scream, ..etc.
However, it is ok for the girl to do so.

I was wondering if the girls ALWAYS say they should be equal to men in everything then why can't they let guys be the same as them?

From what I see, guys are as weak as girls BUT they learn how to hide their feelings and show their anger more to be called strong!
To me that is called "weakness" and nothing to be proud of. It is like hiding yourself to not let people see who you REALLY are.

our culture trained the male species that they are not supposed to show soft emotions, which are supposedly not "masculine" and therefore a weakness. THIS IS DEFFINATELY A FALSE NOTION AND IT SHOULD BE WIPED OUT!!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with a man showing emotions. I love it when a guy cries and shows his emotional side, makes me feel as if he actually cares about something. What is up with this "pride" MUMBO JUMBO taking over the male species.

I agree. The female and male mind are different, so we can't expect them to act the same. Women are more prone to exhibiting emotions while men tend to function differently. I don't blame it completely on society, but rather on the psychological build of a person.

There is nothing wrong with a man showing emotions but it should not be overboard like a girls. That would be a definite turn off. Therefore, I would like for men to remain men. There is no need to be equal in that sense :rolleyes:

I don't and can't and refuse to be with a man who cries [like a girl] or GLUE himself to me. Its bad and weird, I wouldn't do that with anyone and can't imagine ending up with a guy like that.

I agree with Lym its a turn off, I also can't stand girls who are very emotional. They need to toughen up and stop acting like a 6 years old.

I disagree with you Squinty, I think sometimes when you show who you really are you end up getting hurt more so its better to just forget and move on positively knowing that things will only get better soon after they get worse, lol..

I'm all for equal opportunities. However, I do realize there is a limit and that is when men in the name of equality want to go around wearing dresses and sobbing loudly or women in the name of equality want to go into the mosque and pray side by side with men. There is always a limit, otherwise I don't see why equality can't be achieved in the work place, in parental duties, in society roles, in power.. etc.

I expect us to be treated the same when it comes to many things, but there are some situations where being exact equals isn't ideal.

I would want to have the same job opportunities, get the same salary, or be promoted just as easily as a guy is, because I don't think that there are many differences between men and women intellectualy. I can do my job just as well or even better than most guys.

But then when it comes to physical form, we're built differently, and I actually enjoy being thought of as "helpless" so I don't have to carry my own luggage, for instance. I know I CAN carry it on my own, just like any guy does (because I have), but it's nice to be pampered in that way. :p

To be honest I would not be around a man or woman who thought solving problems was to whine and cry about it and not take action so in both cases don't want that drama. Don't give two cents what gender a person is. Be a grown up and take responsibility for your actions.

ill tell u y... because their are jobs that girls cant do.. look im ready to cook and stay with the kids, if a girl can go to the Desert, and work in patrol Rig for 2 continues weeks.

i dont think that is wrong that men cries, i think that sharing feeling is more better, but me as a male, i dont like to cry infront of everyone, but if im with persons that i realy know and so much of them, i would cry.
I wont deny that i cried once in public infront of eveyone and loud little bit, people i know and people i dont, when my brother passed away.
we men dont have a stoned heart, its 360 degree the other way around, it just we dont show it.

Why should they be equal? In career wise for instance women fought a lot to have the same chances in terms of job opportunities. But then I always wondered if both went out for work, who is supposed to stay at home and look after the children. Who is supposed to manage the house? Wouldn’t that just be more work for a woman to work and to look after the kids and house at the same time. I doubt she could perform as well as a none working woman in terms of looking after the house and kids since she will go back from home exhausted and frustrated from work leaving her with very little patient and time to look after the house and children.

And since in Islam woman are not entitled to contribute anything to the household expense, wouldn’t that be selfish from her to neglect her kids for the sake of having money to spend only on her self while she has a husband that covers all the expense.
