Sex & Aggression

Sex & aggression are motivational forces in human beings, also referred as Eros (love drive) & Thanatos (death drive)

We can observe animals, that are inferior to us, engage in sexual activities whenever they feel like, wherever, same goes to acts of aggression

We as humans have learned how to control those instincts (at least most of us)

What mechanisms do you use to control those instincts?

i am not sure about animals engaging in sexual or violent behaviour 'when they feel like'...for most species there is a mating season or a 'heat' season.
violent behaviour in the animal kingdom usually takes place where there is territory dispute or a dispute over a mate or food.
with humans, it's a more complex psychological process. religion, moral teachings and society laws are there to teach humans to deal with their instincts more than animals can. a good way to deal with overt sexual or violent urges....get a hobby.

well as for me i guess i go threw phases, like before i wasnt so into the whole dating thing and now i would want the hugs and love or whatever but not into sex as much, but i dont know i guess phases. but my way of not drivining me into it would be like ummm just focusing on something else and knowiing i chill with more guys than grls, the guys just open up to me about there sexual life and what not

there is no mechanism , we just dont have the chance to do it,and thats what keeps me away of thinking about it.

However, something not very uncommon among the psychopaths, both drives can be used to full one another, an example is rape, where both aggression & sex are involved
