this was a bugs bunny cake, took me two days to do. the bugs bunny bit was the hardest. about a kilo and a half of sugar paste...

wow amazing cakes!
I can not make a cake am bad at baking -_-
dont u have more pix!
AND oh can u teach us how to make cupcakes :P
minerva 28-04-08, 02:01 AM cupcakes? they are dead easy. normal madeira cake mix (google it up) and add whatever flavouring you like to the mix...lemon, chocolate chip, nuts, vanilla etc...
cooking time no more than 20 minutes moderate oven. never bake in a hot oven....let them rise slowly.
pour the mixture into the paper cupcake holders 2/3 of the way. cool down and decorate with chocolate or icing sugar or sugar paste (simple icing sugar mix... put your icing sugar and trickle water/lemon juice into it until a paste is formed. you need very little water. add colour/flavouring)
Manchester 28-04-08, 02:20 AM loves the bugs bunny cake, truly brilliant work minerva.
WoLF DoLL 28-04-08, 02:25 AM WOW! you are really goood!!
God bless!
minerva 28-04-08, 02:28 AM thankyou for your lovely comments. they are not that hard to do...takes a lot of patience and trial and error (and studying other people's work).

Brilliant of course, but I'm a little worried by the woman bursting out of the cake...
I mean, you gotta admit that Amy at age 5 is a bit young for such shenanigans? ;)

it was a very good girl bursting out of the cake. didn't complain a single bit :D
^^
Oh, okay then. If she was a very GOOD girl... :p
I must say, all joking aside, I really admire your work.
I do a fair amount of cooking...I even make my own pizzas from scratch and cook asparagus with hollandaise sauce and moderately difficult things. I baked some bread the other day.
But I don't really have a FEEL for cooking. I can cook a thing I know how to cook, but I hate trying new things because I can't generalize.
So I am always in awe of stuff like that.
Will you marry me? lol
I smell trouble
lol ok, come over and i'll make you a huge sabla cake. chocolate fudge and orange. good?

As I always said, nothings beats a woman in a kitchen
minerva 01-05-08, 01:07 AM I smell trouble
it's ok, i would marry her but i'm not allowed more than one spouse lol. she can be my cake-wife. :hyper:
Libellula 01-05-08, 01:31 AM I decided I'm going to learn how to bake this summer.
I love cupcakes, but I've never tried making them! I'm sure I'll enjoy decorating them.

you're living in a country that's got plenty of cup cake accessories! try sugar paste to play with for decorations. go to a cake shop. it's just like plasticene. you add colour to it, you mold it. get yourself a good piping bag and get moving. you go to any local supermarket, and you'll see a few ideas you can poach. good luck!

I know! I need to get cracking.
I should invest in some cooking utensils and cook books soon.
