The advertisement messages you get in your mobile from various companies or organizations, isn’t it breach of privacy? I feel it is & I never signed any damn thing which state that my mobile# be given to marketers.

I feel I am updated with some events & offers. By default you number is listed, to stop it simply unsubscribe by contacting your operator. I believe with Oman Mobile there is a way to block the messages from certain companies/organizations, I am not sure if this works with Nawras.

I really laughed at the SMS by ROP saying: O People, keep an eye on your children. For the streets are not safe!

Ok I'm exaggerating. But I'm sure it said: Keep an eye on your children.

I heard that there of is a way to stop receiving such stuff, but I don't know how. :cute:

i get them in my post paid, but not in hayyak, wierd, they think post paid guy is rich lol!

I feel it would be fair and acceptable if the telecoms company pays me a small share of what the company that advertises through them pays them.

Even when I'm in the US I still get those ads on my Oman phone... they're following me everywhere I go! :P.. But oh well, that's because I'm still keeping my Oman phone on, lol.

I do find that those ads are very annoying. And what I find more annoying is that there isn't a feature in Oman Mobile to block ALL these ads. You can block ads from specific companies, but for each company, you have to make a block for it. That's just ridiculous. They should also add an option for blocking ALL companies.

I don't mind the messages sent by Oman Mobile itself. The offers and stuff from Oman Mobile. In fact, I find them important at some point. But offers from other companies which are mostly annoying? No thanks.

But technically, you will be paying. 'cause in order to block the company, you have to send an SMS to Oman Mobile. Each SMS costs 10bz. So technically, you pay 10bz for each block! :p

They're so annoying! I tend to delete 'em before even going through the text.. =\

i never had that problem with my bahraini number.. but with the emaraty 1.. since i still have it on in bahrain.. the Ads r still following me around!

n the worst part is when im waiting 4 a reply so badly .. n when i get a txt msg its an Ad ( Arrrggghhh )
