View Full Version : Hotel preference
Libellula 21-04-08, 10:46 PM Is there a particular hotel chain you would prefer to stay at when you travel, if it's available in the country you're going to?
ie The Hyatt, Intercontinental, Hilton, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Shangri La, Radisson, Ramada, Sheraton, Crowne Plaza, etc
marianna 21-04-08, 10:48 PM Days Inn (depending on the neighborhood) or the Hilton.
NicoBambi 21-04-08, 11:01 PM Depends on the price lol and the location
Superbia 21-04-08, 11:09 PM As long as it's a decent hotel, then it's fine with me.. So whatever. :p
Dam3eti 21-04-08, 11:18 PM My parents do hotel bookings, and usually what they choose is perfect. So I don't mind any as long as it's clean and comfortable.
I don't care about hotel chains... I only care about the locality of the hotel I will be staying at, how comfortable it is and their rates. If I'm going to a city and I'm looking for a hotel, I don't look for chains. I rather look for good hotels in good locations, and at the same time with reasonable rates.

When in Dubai, I avoid the Russian Corner:p
Endure Whisper 22-04-08, 10:41 AM Clean and comfortable. Nothing particular.. My husband and I love to try new hotels. We go to Dubai often, and we've been trying out so many hotels recently.. When we travel , we take my brother's advice (since he's a travel agent) and he knows best.. and it's always been perfect :)
UmKhalid 22-04-08, 11:04 AM Any hotel that has children playing in the lobby. Oh and a hotel that puts chocolates on the pillows.
Lightning2 22-04-08, 11:27 AM hmmm it depends on where iam going....and why:).......i belive that every place has its own speical hotels .....
Rossonero 22-04-08, 11:38 AM No preference's..As long as it's one of the known hotel chains or something special in that country I'm visiting.
There are certain hotels that always maintain a standard that you're comfortable with, no matter where you are. I would rather stay in those hotels such as Hyatt, Hilton, Four seasons, Intercontinental, Stanford etc.
To me, the standard of the hotel is much more important than the locations. I would rather stay in a good hotel but far away from the city than the other way around - even though I rarely spend time in the hotel room. Nevertheless, it is important that I'm comfortable with it, otherwise, I will just be cranky and unhappy during the whole trip.
I have stayed in several motels when we go for long road trips and those were okay. So I guess so long as it is clean, neat and the furniture is up to standard, then I am good :)
i don't really mind any, as long as it's comfortable and clean.
EvilFire 22-04-08, 12:18 PM Marriott = good and good prices and good for short travels
Chedi = Comfertable and fun for medium trips

Same here! I would never wanna stay at a tacky hotel with crappy service.
Last summer we went to Switzerland and we stayed at the Intercontinental. Love this hotel...looks like a palace from the inside and their service rocks.
Arabian Prince 23-04-08, 07:37 AM If I'm not traveling with my parents I don't get the luxury of staying at a int'l hotel chain.
If I'm going on a trip or a holiday with friends, it's almost always a budget hotel, which means location and price play the biggest role.
However when traveling with my parents I rarely get a say in which hotel we're staying at since it's all prearranged. They do tend to prefer the Intercontinental and Crowne Plaza chain of hotels.
Cinnamon Queen 28-04-08, 03:20 PM It depends on where I'm travelling. But in Paris I like the Four Seasons. Dubai deffinately the "Jumeirah" branches. And for the rest its the J.W Marriott or the Hilton because they treat their members well :P. ummm, I think thats it. Shangri-la Resort in Fiji is great!
