Is there a particular hotel chain you would prefer to stay at when you travel, if it's available in the country you're going to?

ie The Hyatt, Intercontinental, Hilton, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Shangri La, Radisson, Ramada, Sheraton, Crowne Plaza, etc

Days Inn (depending on the neighborhood) or the Hilton.

As long as it's a decent hotel, then it's fine with me.. So whatever. :p

My parents do hotel bookings, and usually what they choose is perfect. So I don't mind any as long as it's clean and comfortable.

I don't care about hotel chains... I only care about the locality of the hotel I will be staying at, how comfortable it is and their rates. If I'm going to a city and I'm looking for a hotel, I don't look for chains. I rather look for good hotels in good locations, and at the same time with reasonable rates.

Clean and comfortable. Nothing particular.. My husband and I love to try new hotels. We go to Dubai often, and we've been trying out so many hotels recently.. When we travel , we take my brother's advice (since he's a travel agent) and he knows best.. and it's always been perfect :)

Any hotel that has children playing in the lobby. Oh and a hotel that puts chocolates on the pillows.

There are certain hotels that always maintain a standard that you're comfortable with, no matter where you are. I would rather stay in those hotels such as Hyatt, Hilton, Four seasons, Intercontinental, Stanford etc.

To me, the standard of the hotel is much more important than the locations. I would rather stay in a good hotel but far away from the city than the other way around - even though I rarely spend time in the hotel room. Nevertheless, it is important that I'm comfortable with it, otherwise, I will just be cranky and unhappy during the whole trip.

I have stayed in several motels when we go for long road trips and those were okay. So I guess so long as it is clean, neat and the furniture is up to standard, then I am good :)

Same here! I would never wanna stay at a tacky hotel with crappy service.

Last summer we went to Switzerland and we stayed at the Intercontinental. Love this hotel...looks like a palace from the inside and their service rocks.

If I'm not traveling with my parents I don't get the luxury of staying at a int'l hotel chain.

If I'm going on a trip or a holiday with friends, it's almost always a budget hotel, which means location and price play the biggest role.

However when traveling with my parents I rarely get a say in which hotel we're staying at since it's all prearranged. They do tend to prefer the Intercontinental and Crowne Plaza chain of hotels.

It depends on where I'm travelling. But in Paris I like the Four Seasons. Dubai deffinately the "Jumeirah" branches. And for the rest its the J.W Marriott or the Hilton because they treat their members well :P. ummm, I think thats it. Shangri-la Resort in Fiji is great!
