What kind of gifts do you like to get for your birthday or special occasions?

I personally like jewellery and electronics (laptop, phone, camera, etc). However, the thing I appreciate the most is the greeting card, especially if it has a nice personalized message written in it.

oh the card....with the lovely words written in it will stay with me forever.
a present that was just bought without thought, won't be thought of much by me, however expensive it was.

i love getting jewellery, even costume jewellery. and clothes.

the gifts i don't like mostly are vouchers. it's like the gift giver didn't think much of me when they bought it. they 'copped-out'..

I like jewellery and anything that relates to me. I received running shoes on my last b-day and I loved the thought. Shows that the person knows me well. Like you I appreciate the cards the most. I love cards, I guess they last the longest.

However if the gift's coming from my parents then I'd expect something expensive that I can't afford by myself, like a watch or designer bag :p

i love scents if they have been bought by someone who's listened to my comments on a particular scent. like once i was holding a gucci rush tester and i was really fawning about it, gushing gushing, and i Santa Claus got it for me. he was listening, bless him.

definitely cards. and any well thought of gift.

a book i've been looking around for, a gadget i once mentioned i wish i had, something like that.
i'm not so sure about wearable stuff, 'cause i almost never trust other people's taste. :(

Anything would do it. The gift that person gets shows how much they thought of you, and how far they would go to make you happy.

Only the idea of that person thinking about getting you a gift is totally sweet. :)

Anything I can use in regular basis, I don't know why, maybe to remember the one who gave it to me :think:

Perfumes, Wallets, Watches..these things..daily use stuff. .. My parents usually don't bother .. but now that I celebrate my birthday in UK they wire me a great amount of money just for my birthday :love:

Last thing I got from someone was a Teddy Bear sprayed with that friend's favorite perfume, along with a cap, t-shirt, patchi and a cute card :cute:. It was really nice, cute and innocent :p sadly I had to keep the teddy bear in Oman lol..

I love anything shows that the one who gave me the present really care about me and knows me will!

in general i love

electronics ! (anything with technology I LOVE)

Jewelery ( I remember the dorm girls gave me a tiffany&co Bracelet that I totally loved! and the wrote on it Dorm girls lol)

special heels (if they know my size for sure not just guessing lol)

AND for sure cards! they last forever :) and u can remember who remembered you on ur special days



Sometimes i love gifts like notebooks with writing things all over it! i love it that they just wasted their time just to do something for me ! cute!

the best gifts are the ones that show how hard that person worked to get u that gift...

my best gift ever was an album containing my pics put up in a funny way with silly comments on them, and some poetry lines :love:

To me.. Just a "Happy Birthday" from someone who REMEMBERS without hearing it is my birthday is the best gift! :)

lots and lots and lots of stuff :D. Clothes, jewellery, BIG handbags or small purses, nice WATCHES :D, candles (dont ask), chocolate :D, chocolate :D, chocolate :D, I LOVE CHOCOLATE! Makeup and perfume. But I guess the thought always counts in this case, so even a simple hug and a happy birthday would do. (I dont like surprises...)

I like toys, stickers...and those musical birthday cards xD

My dad tends to ask me before hand what I want, then on my day it's like a surprise :p I pretend as if I didn't ask for it :hyper: As for the rest, I don't mind anything.. It is the thought what matters :cute:

I like anything that shows who is giving it has been listening. I keep all the greeting cards given to me by close family and friends and I really like it when they take time to pick the right card.

I hate vouchers or money in an envelope. It just seems so impersonal to me.

And not so long ago, a bouquet of flowers that came from a truck vendor parked slap bang infront of a cemetery. An arrangement for the dead. :bored:

An invitation to lunch or dinner is the best gift I'd ever think about.

Shoes ! i love shoes the most perfume comes 2nd and a teddy bear is 3rd place in my heart ofcourse a card is a must :D

i only got one teddy bear from my husband and it's in my kids bedroom wearing some baby clothes. that was the only one, i made sure i didn't get anymore nonsense from him :hyper:

I don't care whet I get, anything will be cool to me. Things like electronics and watches I can buy them anytime but gifts are sign of love and care. However, I prefer something I don't use regulary so it lasts with me for a long time.

Something I can have a use for like electronics (anything has to do with them), watches and cologne. I don't like ppl buying me clothes because they always tend to choose something I don't like lol

He cooked the dinner himself (well ok he tried to cook English food) and then blindfolded me and drove me to the lil spot. It was awesome and it also happened to be the same place he proposed to me! BEST GIFT ever!

No the poor lil bugger tried to make a lamb roast, parsnip, roast potato and bread&butter pudd. :D Did I mention I married a village boy who could barely speak English and had never even eaten MacDonalds before I married him? :rolleyes: It was quite a challenge for him and thats why it was sssssooooo amazing! :D ( this is a man who doesnt even eat pizza! :p)

I appreciate gifts of all kind. I never give them away to somebody, donate it or sell them even if I don't wear it. I just think it is wrong to give away a gift no matter what. It's the thought that comes with it that is important and I would not want to demean the person who gave it to me by giving it away, throwing it or doing anything to it other than keeping it in my cupboard :inno:

Anything thoughtful, creative, unique & expensive.

that's a point i always put in mind when buying gifts...

it's better to buy a 40 rials watch than a 60 rials phone :)
