Scale our ministry out of 10 in its performance in general.
How well is it doing?
Is it doing enough for the public?
How helpful is it?
Are you happy with the procedures that a high school graduate goes through to get into a university/college? Should it be different?
Should the Ministry have more contact with the public & get closer with them?

Higher education is picking up in Oman & is doing well, but many majors are missing & should be introduced to the Sultanate sooner. More proper teachers would be really appreciated & curriculum should be more practical & less feeding into brains.
The Sultan funds many researches in many major universities & especially in the UK and I think that the Ministry should take that in advantage and partner with those schools that HM funds their research on certain studies.

Not only researches, also chairs
For that in Islamic studies in Leiden, he pays 1point5 million euros, if foreign press reports are accurate
I do hope that the Min takes advantage from that

I'm happy with the new systems students go through after high school "Higher Education Admission Center's system".
It's more fair than the old system and it's not allowing "Wasta" to take place anymore.. So basically, all students now are having equal chances to get scholarship opportunities in the local universities/colleges or even to get abroad scholarships.
As for supporting researches, this field is still new to the Sultanate and hopefully we would see new strategies implemented to encourage Omani students to be creative, to find solutions and contribute in making a difference withing our community.
I do really respect the new Minister and her administration and I can see a bright future waiting for higher education in Oman.

Although my interaction with the ministry in minimul .. but from what I hear around is doing well especially with high school graduates. The new system is great and opens the door for many oppertunities for high school leavers. Gone are the days when you have to choose whether to apply for SQU or scholarship and if you made the wrong choice your chances are gone.
I hope however, they focus more on private education sector. Not all collages are up to the standered and some are out there just to make business.

They are doing well in regard to studying abroad…but I think they should do more in regard to the deteriorating conditions private colleges are run inside the country. They should enforce stricter criteria for accreditation, I don’t want to name some of these colleges, but I think students do not get a quarter of what they pay for.
They have a good connectivity when it comes to studying abroad. People usually resent the fact that their papers need to go through the higher education even when they study on their own. The purpose of the step is to make sure that the institution the student is going to is internationally accredited. It is not that the government wants to control you, its for your good!
It's more fair than the old system and it's not allowing "Wasta" to take place anymore..
Are you sure about that?

^ Well, not as it used to be before.
I think the scholarship is pretty good and MOHE are doing a good job. I just wish they could do something about the standard in the pvt sector. Ive worked in some of these colleges and the standard is awful, I really feel bad for the poor students who are being taken advantage of and putting their hopes and dreams for a better futures in the hands of these crooks.
MOHE does carry out inspections but they warn the colleges in advance so the colleges have time to prepare. The college prepare bogus paperwork and blatantly lie to MOHE officials! They employ substandard teachers cos theyre cheap, there are no QA standards in place and students dont learn anything! In the end their degrees arent worth the paper theyre printed on! Its just so sad to see it happen year after year and nothing changes, no improvements and in the end the students and the country will suffer.
