Are you one of those people who gets totally knocked out when they got on a plane, or do you have trouble sleeping and end up staying awake watching movies/reading/etc?

I personally fall asleep minutes after I get into my seat lol. I'm shocked at how I can do that because when I'm at home I'm a very light sleeper, but when I'm on a plane nothing wakes me up. I usually have to be woken up so I can re-adjust my seat for landing!
There was this one time when the plane I was on landed somewhere, was in transit for an hour where people got on and off, cleaners came on to tidy up the plane, and then the plane took off, and I was asleep the whole time. Didn't feel a single thing!

I can only sleep well if I have 2 seats for myself. If I can only sleep while sitting up then I don't really get much sleep and end up distracting myself for most of the flight by watching movies or doing something else.
I remember going to Singapore a few years ago and we had to go to Thailand first. It was a loong flight and my sister, who was sitting next to me, slept through the whole flight. There were no individual TVs and I went out of my mind with nothing to do and not being to sleep. You should consider yourself lucky (mashallah)!

I can't even sleep in long flights like from Texas to Dubai, which is about 15 hours long. Sometimes I stay awake for the whole night before the flight, so I can sleep on the plane, but that still doesn't work :os

I take sleeping pills, and still not be able to sleep.

Knocked out until the food arrives. wink........

I only sleep after I've exhausted all other pass-time options like watching a movie, talking to the person next to me and reading the book I brought to read. And even if I happen to sleep, the smell of plan food is enough to wake me. I can't stand any sort of "smell" when I am sleeping, because it wakes me up instantly.

I enjoy sleeping on planes for some reason :D

I rarely sleep during a flight...I'll usually be reading a book or magazine.

I can sleep but I wake up every hour or so, it's not comfortable. I usually watch movies or listen to music until I fall asleep.

Yeah, I can sleep on aeroplanes but, once I'm awake, and I'm mean really awake, I can't go back to sleep. lol

This was my trip to Oman two years ago. Got on the plane from Chicago to France (slept until the food came). Got off in Paris (slept in the lounge with one ear open to my flight call)...got on the plane watched a couple of movies then slept to Dubai. Got off the plane.

The way back:

Got on the plane from Muscat, stayed awake until I got to Dubai. Slept from Dubai to France (only to get up and eat maybe watch a movie). Got off in Paris, then got back on slept from Paris to Chicago again only getting up to eat.

I immediately pass out when I'm in a plane.

The thing that gets me though when I sleep on a plane is the smell...I HATE that chemically stale smell of airplanes. BLECH! :Sick: :yuk:

When i'm on a plane, i put my head phones on, switch on my music and pass out. I don't wake up unless we land or if i'm woken up. I just can't stay awake on planes.

if i am tired enough, i just might sleep on the airport floor ..lol..that's IF I AM DEAD TIRED! but like i said, i can be a zombie..so i fight sleep most of the times. when on board, i sleep like the dead sometimes! LOL god help the person next to me because they wont be able to wake me up easily so they can get up to use the toilet:XD: but they better be careful of how hey wake me..i can be the devil:6:

I can never sleep on planes every time I travel I suffer I throw up I get headaches stomach aches you name it I get it. So imagine I study in Australia I go back home twice a year so yeah don’t blame me if I hate planes.

Yeah i can sleep pretty well .. not comfortably but still pretty good .. probably for 3 hours or so .. I'd wake up and sleep again though ..

economy class is less comfortable though .. but still nothing can beat me from sleeping! :p

I can sleep pretty much anywhere, car, truck, plane, boat etc....doesn't matter. If I am tired I am out.

It depends on who am I travelling with!!
If travelling alone, then I don't sleep!
If I have a company, then if that person sleeps, then i would :D

i love sleeping on the plane... especially with air turbulence! its like a sleeping pill!!

n the rest of the time that im awake.. its movies time!

i love sleeping just about anywhere. on a plane, if it's dark, and after dinner, it's bliss.

I hate planes. I cant sleep unless I am DEAD tired. and I dont eat plane food (dont know why), and I dont watch the movies either. I zone out while I'm on the plane. And travelling for 19 hours doesnt help what so ever. hmph.
