You’ve been waiting for this movie for quite a while and it's not playing at the cinema. You plan to go with your friends/family, buy the tickets before hand to make sure you get seats. After you get your snacks and take your seats a group of teenager enter and sit right behind/next to you and start talking and misbehave. What do you do?

- Change your seat
- Inform the security man and let him deal with them
- Deal with them yourself and ask them to shut up or change their seats

Anything you'd like to add, like past experiences?
------

I HATE it when talkative people sit next to me at the cinema; I usually ask them to be quiet once or twice and if they don't I inform the security man or the employees. What annoys me most is when the ppl next to me don't understand English and keep on commenting in Arabic throughout the movie using Omani slang and trying to be funny arghh!

It's very annoying. I think I will first inform them to keep it down. If they don't listen and are still being childish, then I will inform the ushers. I don't see why I should change "good" seats for other peoples' childish behaviors.

I don't experience lots of these incidents, because for one most of the time when we go to the cinema we are a huge group, so we might take half a row :p and also, because we have "guys" with us who take care of something of this sort if it gets out of hand.

That's one of the reasons why I don't like goin' to cinema for late shows.. I know my self and my temper, I might get into a fight!!

Thanx God I am able to avoid the temptation :p

In this case, it would most probably be happening in Oman. therefore i would either attend an early afternoon show a week after its release or wait till the movie is out in Australia..

I ask them to shut up and that they are being very disturbing. Once I tell them that, they keep quiet. It never happened to me that they still continued talking despite of my awareness.

I would shush them, and if they don't stop talking, I'd report them to the cinema staff. I don't see why I should go through the inconvenience of changing seats.

It's just a movie, if people talk in it, so be it...I'm personally not annoyed by such people anyhow...That is, if the movie is good enough to keep me distracted from their blabbering.

If they really over-do it .. and if they annoy other people than just me .. than I would tell them to calmly be quite in a sensible way .. After that I guess I would show it to them in an angry way .... Shame on them if they continued after that! .. I would never change my seat! That would just lower my diginity!!

same here, i never had to inform the cinema staff.

maybe cuz they usually shut up if it was a guy who talks to them??

however, i had a situation once, in Bahja Cinema, where alllllllll the audience were silly people who were making silly comments, i didnt enjoy that movie...

Happened a lot before..

First, I would talk to them nicely and ask them to keep quiet because they're disturbing others. If they keep repeating it, I will just go call the security man and let him deal with them. I would never change my seat, though.

if i am with my family...i will ask them nicely to stop using foul language as there are families here...and then try to ignore them as i cant do anything else if they presist on doing except if they cross the line i will call security

People who comment loudly and talk in the cinema seem very disrespectful and cheap to me and I always end up asking them to shut up, if they continue then I ask the staff to do something, but usually they end up keeping quiet once I tell them off.

First, that is the reason why I go to the 11:55 am show, mostly at Al-Bahjah other than the weekend…it is quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiet,

But when bothered by talkative people behind me, I usually turn my frown head looking straight at them for a second… they get scared and shut up, I know how to look mean :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

If it didn’t work then….”ya shabab lao sama7too…khalas yakhi” …”guys please…enough”

If that didn’t work, then I will change my seat.

I wonder if the experience of going to the movies is different if you go in America and if you go in Oman.

What do you think?

11.55 A.M?! You are not talking about Oman right?!

I wish there are morning shows or something like after the midnight, I need that peace when I watch movies in the cinema.

well that reminds me of a situation with Nabhan, Thug4life and a cousin of a friend... damn it was so embarrassing ..this guy made fun and talk throughout the movie.... everyone in the cinema was looking toward him .....

In such cases i will deal with the guys by myself and if they don't change their action..then depend on my mood ; i either deal with them with my own way or just call the security..

NiGhtFace,
there are shows which start at 11.55pm... it is fun to drive in empty roads after the movie... and to fill ur car with petrol station specially with a sleeping worker... Stories from Muscat

In the USA, some do talk but I think it happens more often in Oman.

I know about the shows at midnight. But, Pygmalion said 11.55 A.M, so I am wondering about the timing, usually the shows here don't start before 1 or 2 P.M.

There is always a show at 11:55 PM... sometimes less than 10 people are there in the theatre...

Yah I dont stand them annoying people at the movies happens all the time when I'm at the movies.. If they were being too loud then we'll ask them to shut it. If they insisted then we'll change our seats.

rarely happens in the UAE, where i mostly go. there were two guys once who were being very annoying and flirtatious, we told the usher, but i guess he thought it was so cute! :mmhmm: we ended up changing our seats. i swear some people can be very uncivil.

It's very annoying, that’s why I ALWAYS buy tickets for the last seats line so NO one is sitting behind me.

If it happened and they set in front me I directly ask them to shut up and watch the movie or they can go outside to talk. If they kept talking I call the security and they deal with them ( which I never did, I know how to make them shut up :p )

I never change my seat, and usually go around 3:00 PM which is quite time even in weekends

It happens all the time and i dont blame them lol...maybe it's because im actually one of them it adds a special flavor to the movie commenting bout it :p

If they were grown ups sitting next to me i wont be as childish but that wont stop me from laughing really loud or commenting that has to happen

You must be kidding me! UAE?! They never shut up there! Plus when you inform the staff, the ppl there actually ignore the staff and I think the staff are too scared to do anything.

I usually ask them to shut up, but once I did and the guys kept on teasing and imitating the way I said it which pissed me off so much. I hate those guys, so stupid! I either change my place if I find a seat which is as good as the one I had, or inform the staff.

Well, in UK there aren't problems at all..everyone's quiet. Except when the Emarati/Saudi guys come and watch the movie :p

In Oman in Shatti Cinema I haven't experienced anything like that, but in Bahja .. as my friend 5alfanooh would say: RAWQQQQQ :p .. They all make silly stupid comments and fool themselves and think they are cool.
