The weather is getting really hot and humid these days in Oman and on the other hand it's snowing in some places in Europe and it's only April!

Which season do you prefer in terms of:
-Wardrobe
-Outings and activities
-Holidays?

Any other ideas, please share :D

I prefer winter and it is simple why. When I go out, I've to dress modestly and cover up all body parts and that is really frustrating to do in summer especially when you've to walk about outside to get to your destination. So I prefer the cold. I get to cover up as comfortably as I want and my body temperature does not get affected :p

And when I say winter, I don't mean snow, just subtle cold breezes. I get cold too fast and that is never a good thing.

I prefer winter for clothes.. there's simply more of them to wear. :D I prefer winter for my hair, I can leave it down and not feel hot, and can put proper make-up on without it running and melting.

I prefer winter for cold nights snuggled up under a blanket with a hot cup of coffee, maybe a film and possibly someone to watch it with who won't sleep within the first 15 minutes of a love story.

I prefer winter for that yearly obligatory visit to the inlaws, because of the clothes I am expected to wear.


I prefer summer for the beach, for shoes, for ice-creams, for nights out, for BBQ's, for fruit, for dresses, for holidays to cooler places, for white wine, for walking by the sea and boat trips..

Summer. I hate cold weather and winter clothes. Also, the reason I intended my wedding to be in summer is to enjoy the heat, beach and pool in most of the countries when I go for my honeymoon. Also, there's more to do in summer in terms of activities. In winter, it's depressing and all you could do is ski (if you're going to a country with ice falls).

I prefer winter clothes because I like wearing jackets and coats. I don't mind summers abroad but I can't stand summers in Oman it's way too hot to do anything and my mood is always bad. The only thing I love about summer is the long summer holiday!

winter all the way.. for traveling especially.. n wardrobes wise.. u can mix n put a 100 pieces together n wont suffocate from the heat.. well u know the weather in the Gulf Areas!

but i enjoy the summer for the sea n beaches n a tan :D

I prefer summer because no matter how hot it is I can still tolerate it (plus I never sweat), and I'd rather go out in the heat than out in the cold. Also, I can do so much more during the summer - go swimming, have more ice cream, go on vacation, not worry about uni, spend more time with friends and family, etc.

I don't like feeling cold, and I hate having to wear so many layers during winter. It poses a big problem when I go shopping because I can't try anything on unless I'm willing to spend ages taking everything off and putting them back on. Also, I don't like wearing socks or closed shoes. I love flip flops and sandals. My feet like to breathe.

Summer all the way, although winter does have its perks.. Christmas decorations around the city, seasonal drinks at Starbucks, winter in Oman is perfect, etc.

Oh my god I love winter I’m all for winter I think everything about winter is romantic. Imagine walking down the street with your partner or future partner it just gives them a reason to hug you more. And yeah I love winter clothes too the clothes are so comfortable and warming.

Libby maybe winter isnt such a good idea soemwhere in Europe.. but in the gulf its good.. its like the summer in the schotland! hehehe

i adore summer. the sun, the tan, the barbeques, the long days by the pool with thalia watching the kids play together (the only way we can get them out is when we shout 'chips'), the cold white wine in the evening, the days where i don't have to go to work. the heat is a big sacrifice, but i can bear it for the pleasures i get in summer compensate greatly.
and as to housework...my clothes dry in half hour, there's less to wash (except for towels)...i can hop in the shower and have a nice cold one, the ice creams and frozen yoghurt.....i fall into a mini 'depression' when summer ends. I love the light, the sky, the sea, summer fruits, and staying up every night...bliss.

We are suppse to get snow flurries today and the low tonight will be in the 30's (F).

i like them both, when it's winter i miss summer, when it's summer i miss winter.

when it's summer it's swimming (can't wait!) ice cream, more time with my family and no university. when it's winter it's not as hot, and you get rain sometimes. enjoy late night walkings, sweaters and jackets, etc..

but what the Heck, winter it is!!! :p

it's a time where u can "iksha5" (dress well) with ur clothes, wear many stuff above each other, long sleeves and short sleeves and sleevless :p

it's also a good time for the car, doesnt get hot, u open the window and breathe the fresh air, instead of the A/C, u can use a convertible :p

my bro has a theory:
- in winter, u can wear as much as u can to prevent cold..
- in summer, what do u do? stripp off? xD

P.S. ^^ those points apply in gulf countries, specially the cars part xD

Partly the same reason lym mentioned. I can cover myself up well without feeling hot and bothered :cute:
I love being able to go outside without an angry sun glaring at me
I love the rain
I love snuggling
I love hot cups of chocolate and hot bowls of soup
I like outings with my siblings and cousins
I like how the sky looks
I love seeing my family in their over large adorable sweaters and how they walk differently because the tiles are cold xD and just their general reactions to the cold
I can go on and on
it also seems more peaceful somehow
and hot summer days turns me into a sloth sometimes xD especially this summer in Aus when I didn't have an ac or even a fan.

I love Oman's winters, when you could actually go outdoors and not get suffocated by the heat. I love leaving my bedroom, living room, and car windows open rather than relying on the AC. The cool breeze makes me feel fresh and alive.
Winter, however, is not my favourite season. When I'm in the UK, I just can't wait for spring to arrive. I'd even choose summer over winter anytime. The the flowers, colourful clothes, sandals, choice of fruits, swimming, longer days, the SUN! It's amazing how weather here (in)directly affects people's moods. They all look brighter and much happier when the sun is out.

in oman i love the winter

coz in summer here we cant do so much its damn hot!
and in winter we dont have that MUCH cold no snow no nothing so yeah its nice!
and if i went to the beach i wont burn!


BUT out side of the gulf i love the summer!

they have a nice wither in summer not too much hot its between 20 degrees and below somtimes like our winter so yeah!

The thing I hate about winter is that it keeps raining constantly and I just don't stand that dull cloudy weather. Other than that, I love winter in Oman and abroad cause you get to go out whenever and wherever. The heat during the summer is just awful ... too depressing.

I love jackets, sweaters etc. So I'll go for the winter wardrobe..but I really hate the weather here in the United Chavdom of Great Britain.

As for the summer and holidays summer is good. European summer I mean, you can go out wearing short-sleeves..next day a light sweater..

But let's be realistic..Winter in Oman is too cold for you guys to do something, it's different .. even with 10 blankets covering you you would still feel cold..
