View Full Version : Another wedding?
Endure Whisper 10-04-08, 12:18 AM As posted earlier, my husband and I are planning a vacation for our first anniversary. However, my sister in law is trying to convince me to have another "party" something like the wedding, but it should be mixed (men and women) -- a small thing with our friends and age group only.
She had something like that on her first anniversary but it was a big thing; almost like the wedding and she wore the wedding dress!
I couldn't agree with her and I am not thinking of doing anything at all for anyone. LOL! Of course my husband is on my side about this so we're definately not doing anything for "people"! We're going to do something for "us"-- which hasn't been decided yet.
Anyway, let me ask you this: Would you host another party on your 1st anniversary? How big or small would it be?
Or if you did, how was it?
minerva 10-04-08, 12:21 AM no way. for one, i haven't got money to throw about. secondly, i'd rather go on holiday. if they wanna throw a party for me, fine. but i'm not gonna go through all the hassle only a year after the wedding. would be nice ten years down the line.
Great idea!
I am definitely going for it & charge each one of the guests 20 Rials (52$) as an entry fee
Dam3eti 10-04-08, 12:25 AM No I'd rather celebrate it alone with my husband, I agree with you it should be about you guys and not the crowed, I think you should stick to your holiday :p
NiGhTFaCe 10-04-08, 12:29 AM And by then it should be every year, isn't going to be boring?! People call the wedding night the NIGHT, so that is more than enough. The couple need to celebrate alone, make something special for themselves.

I want in on the pot of $$$$$$
AMARANT 10-04-08, 12:32 AM yah would rather spend it on us...

Maybe one of them actually wants a replay of that first wild night once again, you know what I mean
Though the honeymoon cystitis will be a bit painful later, the experience is worth it I guess
Endure Whisper 10-04-08, 12:35 AM What if you can afford both? Would you do both or just stick to your holiday?
Dam3eti 10-04-08, 12:37 AM Stick to the holiday.. I don't like parties anyway.

probably you'll spend more than that per person for the party. so you'd be out of pocket anyway.

Yeah I know what you mean, though she can ask for it, we can make it wild every night :hyper:

Enjoy the holiday, & forget about people who will think of anything to get free food :p
Libellula 10-04-08, 12:54 AM If I could have both, then yes I would have a Mr. and Mrs. reception or something of the sort (just for our close family and friends - no more than 200 people), as well as go away on vacation to celebrate our anniversary - but just for our first, not every year after that!
I would have this event primarily because I was quite ill on my wedding day and didn't get to enjoy celebrating with my family and friends. I don't remember a single thing.. Also, it'd be a nice opportunity to meet his friends and for him to meet mine, since we rarely hang out or see each others' friends.
no way! i'm not even sure i want a wedding! let alone another one just after a year. i agree with minerva, if you were to have one, then have 10 years later or something. makes it a lot more special.
if i could afford both then i'll have two holidays! :D
death rose 13-04-08, 08:46 PM i wouldnt ...as you said i want it to be for us not the people lol
party for two (A)
Endure Whisper 14-04-08, 03:08 PM Well since my husband and I postponed our vacation (end of August) instead of beginning (which is when our anniversary is), we'll have a party for two.. we'll dress up and I'll do my hair and make up professionally and go to a studio for a photoshoot then spend the night in Shangri La.. and get all the beautiful memories back, because that's where we stayed when we got married :) :)
Arabian Princess 14-04-08, 03:21 PM I dont think so .. I am sure my husband wouldnt like it for a start .. he wouldnt like the attention.
